Anyone else notice how Carmichael and Emig downplayed the Canard takeout on Dungey? It was shamefully obvious.

Carmichael: "He runs him high. Not hard contact. See the top of that berm just falls away. Trey was using up all the track." He even goes so far as to blame the track before he accuses Canard of overly aggressive or dirty riding.

On the other hand, when Emig describes Friese trying to turn under Peick, he said, "It was totally intentional." Both Emig and Carmichael defend Peick and accuse Friese of riding dirty. That's ridiculous. Peick should have shut off. Friese did not even make contact with Peick. Not like how Canard ran into Dungey in the main.

If you look at the footage, it clearly shows that Canard's contact with Dungey was far more aggressive than Friese's move on Peick. And I am not even going to get into the boneheaded move Dungey pulled on Stewart in the main. That deserves its own thread.

So, can anyone else spot the double standard here?
Wow, this is actually a well put together Troll post. Impressive.

Lets see how many bites this pulls in....

I would not call it a clean pass. A clean pass would be no contact and nobody on the ground.
There wasn't a great deal of contact. You have to be aggressive in most cases to make a pass in SX, the track isn't miles wide with multiple lines to choose from like in outdoors. Canard had to run Dungey out to the edge of the track, otherwise Dungey would have just tripled into the rythym section and passed him straight back.

Takeout or not, Peick threw punches in front of the whole world. Has to be fined/suspended to send a message or the sport turns into hockey every time 2 guys bump. If Freise even attempted to punch back he would be suspended to probably. Peick should have just got back on his bike and waited on Freise in the pits to settle it, where there were no Fox cameras

Not trying to be a smart ass, but Freise didn't try and punch back because he knew the ass whipping would have been even worse. There should also be fines and suspensions given out to riders who intentionally t-bone their competitors imo.

Canard's move was pure racing. Was it rough? Yes. But rough is good if it isn't taken too far. Keep in mind, this is THE premier supercross series in the frickin universe. TC put a hard move on the reigning champ. Maybe to let him know that he is in it to win it and is plenty fast enough. Dungey being the champ that he is, got up and chipped his way back into second. TC, on the other hand, kissed mother earth and I don't even know where he finished. The bottom line is that TC was playing the short game and it bit him.

I for enjoyed the fight. this is why the 70s and 80 were better. guys settled this crap on the field and i enjoy a good take out once in a while

while peick was out of line belting friese, he was well in his right for being pissed due to being taken out twice. Peick should have been put on notice and perhaps still DQ'd for the night ( it is the rules) but given frieses history of being aggresive he should've been issued, at the VERY LEAST, an official warning.

the biggest issue between canard and friese is canard was going forward while friese is relatively slower making unnecessarily aggro moves.

shoot with Alessi's take outs from last year maybe they should be called Team Rollerball/motoconcepts

but what bothers me the most is two things

1. ama is full of bigger dumbasses than the NFL referees and creates poorly written rules and enforces them with no degree of consistency. (anyone remember the fuel issues back in 04 05 06?)

2. the ama officials seem to make decisions in the heat of the issue instead of fully assessing the situation

Because 2 former champs wouldn't know the difference right? LOL

I didn't think it was a great pass, Ryan really had nowhere to go and only met Trey well past the apex where upon he was of course already well on the gas (too late to back off without losing his balance up on the berm). However nor would I call it intentionally dirty, just a racing incident - in other words a miscalculation, in this case by Trey.

That is totally uncool calling this guy a girl! As a girl, I resent that accusation! Smile

I think this guy is just a Friese Fanboy.
