RV2 becomes official test rider for kawasaki?

in several interviews ryan mentioned that he'd like to be involved with the further development of the bike and is in talks with kawasaki. nothing official as of now but this IS post has him riding sx tomorrow. if it is for official testing, how much do you think will it help eli and will for this coming season? he is arguably the fastes test rider out there.

Is that a factory bike? I guess RV will be a test guy for their factory team bikes and not ongoing testing of the production models like I would guess MC and some others are.

I'm glad RV is still involved in the sport,... just incredibly surprised. Perhaps I shouldnt be,he may be getting some perverse pleasure watching other guys get put under the microscope the way he felt he was.Shocked

I'm hoping this "The Real RV" is going to be a regular contributor to Pulpmx. RV busting Steves balls and vise versa is great!Tongue

Hey Guy! Can we get RV to do the "Vitard Question of the Week" segment?
I'm not suprised at all. I think what soured RV was the "game" of the sport at the level he was at, and the grind to do it over and over again. Hell, he'd been doing it since he was a little kid. I think he was just emotionally "shut down" his last season, and couldn't wait to get over with the whole deal. Obviously, his love of riding dirt bikes is still there and I guess he figures that if he can have fun riding dirt bikes, and still get paid the big bucks to do it...why not?

i guess thats where they need testing. in the longrun kawasaki probably wants to have all their riders on showa. so if rv gets some good settings with it that suit eli...

I still think it's funny that people don't think his trip to the GPs will taint his legacy. The picture of the loop out will follow him for a very long time.

No, I'm not say that at all. But what I am saying is that you need a reading composition class.

And just to clarify things, plenty of very fast guys needed test riders to help them.

I don't disagree with that at all. I'm not saying a not-so-hot GP performance and a loop out knock him off the podium of greatest riders in history, but people will always remember his failed trip to the GPs.

Maybe he is just using it as a way to get great bikes and some pay to have fun?

MC has seemed to make that work. These guys dont hate bikes, they are just tired of racing.
Hill tracks, play riding, cliff jumps and such after the rains, that never isn't fun.

Racing sucks in comparison to the fun factor of just going back to the original reason people get hooked on this shit.

no , he is saying that like Carmichael, RV couldnt set up a bike to save his life, but could win anyway.

Test riders are a special breed, they understand everything , and can tailor the way they set a bike up to work for someone else who rides differently.
