Right on! If the timing is right and the garden is doing good,I like being able to go outside and pick stuff dinner and then go to the freezer and decide between venison or perch. I wish I could do that all year. Alot of local farmers are doing these co op programs where you pay them ,say 70 dollars a year and then every week you stop by and get your box of mixed vegetables for the week.

For breakfast I usually have granola and Greek yogurt.
If I'm dieting for a tournament I'll have muesli with Greek yogurt instead. It's a little lighter.

For lunch I'll have a lean meat and something green.
For dieting, no greens.

For dinner I just graze on nuts or maybe a Clif bar.
For dieting I eat nothing after 5pm.

As it gets closer to time to make weight for a tournament, I eat high fats. Hard to sustain that for a long time. I can't stay in ketosis for more than a month.

I usually have an apple or banana if I need a snack to get me to the next meal.

No alcohol during dieting.

I'm not dieting at all now Wink

In general we eat very little red meat anymore. Lots of veggies. When we eat meat, probably 80% fish 15% chicken, and then beef once in a while. When we eat beef we look for "grass fed" beef. turns out the composition is different and it's not bad for you. Same with eggs. We buy most of our supplies from a store that prohibits products that are not organic or cannot be labeled nonGMO. I still eat too much but it's better than eating too much crap. Funny thing is, when I eat crap food now I actually feel not so good after and even the day after. Like maybe eating an ordered pizza. In general we usually make our own pizza. If any of you do the blender stuff, I highly recommend getting a "Vita Mixer". Yes they are like $400 at costco but well worth it. Ours was like 8 years old and had a problem, sent it in and they sent us back a new one. These things pulverize everything. When we make smoothies, I hate getting the seeds stuck in the corner where 2 teeth meet the gum line. This machine demolishes the seeds and no more problem.
when we prepare meat it's almost always done on the grill outside. More healthy, tastes better, and less mess.
TM
I got healthy this past winter/spring before things went off the rails in April and now I feel like complete shit.

Anyways, yes when I was eating healthy and would slip and get a convienence store pizza pocket/burrito, candybar and soda I would actually have stomach cramps and then diarhea. Happened a couple times. My body couldnt handle greasy food anymore.

It isnt that bad once you get used to preparing your own food.

Yea sugar is pretty much the cause of all evil. I know there is a lot more to it than sugar, but my mom has been battling breast cancer and her tumor didn't start responding to chemo until she cut out all sugar. She tried to talk to the doctors about diet recommendations and they looked at her like she was crazy. I have read stuff about tumors loving sugar, but of course there isn't a whole lot of info about it.

I used to think it was a huge conspiracy to keep people unhealthy, but then I realized that most people don't know anything about their bodies and don't care either way.

There are a lot of good documentaries about all the horrible things we eat that are on Netflix. One that I remember was called "Fed up."
My wife and i have watched a number of Food documentaries, though for the life of me I cant remember the name of any of them. Im sure weve watched Fed Up and we saw Food Inc I think it was called. Is that the Michael Palin one? Anyways, one of the points of those shows is the salt/sugar/fat addiction cycle the food manufacturers got going. It kind of pisses you off watching those shows. Especially the school lunch programs.

I was pretty much raised with home cooked meals but also an endless supply of mountain dew and fatty/suggary foods for snacks.

Even to this day, I cant have unhealthy food in the house...its too addictive. I'll think about that piece of cake all night till I eat it, then I feel like shit. Cravings are a shity thing to have.

I eat what ever I want. No way I'm gonna worry about it. Just did butcher a hog for the fridge. I usually eat it quick enough so I don't need to freeze much.

Frozen vegetables are not bad for you, but they aren't as healthy as fresh.
Flash frozen is the closest you can get to killed, caught or picked.

You can get Salmon all day from some great places in Nor Cal Oregon and Washington.

You're not in ketosis if you're eating what you put.
Not even close.

Your diet is ass backwards for someone who thinks they are burning fat for energy instead of glycogen.

Here's one of my favorites,
Fish Tacos,
Grilled MahiMahi, cabbage, fresh tortillas, home made white sauce, Sriracha
Mmmmmmm!!!!
Yeah you could go with a little less white sauce but once in a while you can indulge.

Yes I know, and that's what you get 9 out of 10 times in the fresh section too. I'm refuring to the stuff you buy in the freezer section, most of that is processed or full of preservatives.

I don't maintain that same diet when I'm in the later stages of cutting weight. That's why I said as it gets closer to time to make weight................

From what you posted you're eating, it's not possible.

Ok so for the last few days Ive been doing the blended vegies and fruit smoothies like first suggested......

I added in real honey and maple syrup to the blend...and wow! Actually tasted pretty damb good! I also added walnuts, pecans and sunflower seeds to the mix. This one will become an easy habit I think!

It looks like green vomit in a glass but oh well!..Grinning

My biggest challenge is dining out at a strange restaurant. Deciphering the menu to find the few meals NOT drenched in butter (fat) or oversalted to high heaven. The 2nd challenge is to STOP EATING when I'm first full.
When I eat something shitty, I definitely feel it. gut ache, possibly a headache, and the next morning my morning shit smells awful.

Last night I made salmon, rice and peas. So good.

I've actually limited my dining out for this very reason. When I do, I figure it is "Cheat Night" and just be as careful as I can when ordering.

I keep no Ice Cream or cookies in the house - if I do also feel sick right away.

I was headed to Bend to ride one Friday. At work one of the gals asked who wanted a Milk Shake, I said nope....she shamed me a bit and I caved. Damn that was a fkn mistake! Yes it tasted real good, however about 1/2 way to Bend my stomach hurt real bad and I thought I was going to fall asleep.

Next time no way......Just Say No!!!

When i was racing i had the diet thing down.

On raceday you want a 4 to 1 ratio of carbs to protein. And dont load up on carbs the night before,it causes the intestine to rob water from mussels to digest making you bloat.

Just eat about the rate you use the carbs. I started early morning using bagels, they are 4 to 1 in themselves.

And would eat one an hour or so before each moto ,maybe 30 minutes.

,when training thru the week you want a 1 to 1 ratio to build mussel and stamina.

Smoking my turkey at 110 proof could be a problem, i know that after a bottle if there is a fire near I'm known to jump thru it.

White likker, like vodka, makes me stand in the fire so i try to not drink it.

Moonshine being the exception.

Extras;
walnuts,sunflower seeds, pecans

1cup coconut water
couple cap fulls of apple cider viniger, a couple cap fulls olive oil, about 2 teaspoons real honey, 2 teaspoons real maple syrup.

I dropped 20 pounds when it as trying to lose weight and I have been pretty stagnant ever since. At this point I think I abide by an 80-20 rule. I try to eat good about 80% of the time and still eat what I want the other 20% and it's working out pretty good. Haven't lost anymore weight but I haven't gained any either. Here's some delicious food I made last night. It would have been perfect if I did sweet potatoes instead. I added a little Sriracha sause to spice it up.

If I were you I would just weigh yourself once a week. It can be harder to stay motivated when you weight fluctuates so much each day.

If loosing weight is the goal just drink lots of water.

It takes water to burn the fat,eat a little less and pour on the water, only drawback is pissing.

This always worked for me anyways.

Oh i wasnt really wanting to start eating clean for weight loss. the only reason i check it completely out of curiosity seeing if it made any difference.

Even only a little more than a week in I can say for certain I feel better all day with no massive energy crashes mid day! I'll have no problem staying motivated to stay with this diet because not only am i already feeling better but my blended mix is so good!!Wink

I got caught out yesterday working, was getting into the afternoon period & I was getting hungry.

Decided to pull into McD's drivethru for the first time in months, figured once in a while would be OK. Figured that McDouble on the board would likely taste pretty good and two would be even better.

Ruined me for the rest of the day & still feeling it, too tired to do shit & almost knocked me right out. Plus the time wasted sitting on the toilet.

Garbage, yessir...

That's so true. This fall, me and some buddies just got off the river from a 3 day camping and floating trip in a really small town. It was Sunday and the only thing available to eat was McD's. It was the first time I had eaten there in 6 years. I had to stop twice on the drive home and hit up some gas station bathrooms. It was awful.
