I wouldn`t go that far. AC made himself unknown for being out this much. This sport sucks sometimes.

Fair enough. But few thought it would go this way.

I was one of the few who thought signing the kid to a 5 year deal with PC was straight foolish.

Between he and Millsaps gotta hold the records for longest time with ride and never rides. Lolz

I just compared the time between the first whoop to after the last jump.

Amart and Harrison are about 12.2 seconds (Harrison a little bit faster than Martin)

Webb is around 11:3 seconds... Taking a second just on a small part of a track on a rider like Alex Martin, who can top 5 this next season, it's huge.

Also, I would not count out Jeremy Martin on a 450 for 2017, I think he can handle the big bike really well too:

He was able to keep RC behind him in 2012...
1. you seem to have a lot of time Grinning
2. riders train different things (speed, motos, testing in general etc.) so there are different intensities and that makes for different speeds and times. however, i agree with you. he would be already competitive in the 450 class.

also, it's not guaranteed that jgr will be on blue from 2017. (i hope they will but their contract is up and business is business.)

I'm not sold on WEBB yet. After watching Josh Grant walk all over him at glen Helen this year @ the MXGP ,,,even tho it's grant's track..Grant made him look slow in the 2ed race...yeah I know it was on the 450cc but Webb's talks to much trash and rides kinda dirty...

Remember that Grant dominated moto 1 in Glen Helen 2014, he beat riders like Dungey, Roczen, Stewart, Reed, Metcalfe and Canard. The guy is crazy fast at Glen Helen!

I was at the glen helen mxgp in September...

At what point did JG "walk all over Webb"? Yeah he got beat by JG and the world champ, but he battled them both the majority of both motos.

Hell of a first ride in competition on the 450 imo

The obvious place would be JGR on a 450 in '17...but all this talk of factory Yamaha coming back would also make sense to keep Webb / Martin on blue.

If JGR don't get first dibs on either of these two over the factory team they must be pissed off!!

Doesn't Grant usually do pretty well at Glen Helen?

Webb was way out front JG pulled up on him,,,then said c yaaa to him,,that's what walking all over him means...2. even if it's JG home track webb know's the track also...To me Webb hasn't beat anybody that he shouldn't have beat

webb will be the man one day soon...but I think he rides over his head most of the time...

Webb hasn't beat anybody he shouldn't beat? So 250 riders are supposed to jump on 450's during the off season and beat some of the worlds best? Took Reed at the AusX, won at Paris. That is his style, hes not riding over his head. Put JG beside him on any other track and see what happens... Or put him on a 250 and see what Webb does... The kid is the real deal...

I mean he won a moto last year at GH over Roczen and Dungey. According to Vital that must mean both those guys are shit if JG beat them at Glen Helen...

A few folks have mentioned JGR and Honda, I could see them two in a bidding war. Whether you like his attitude or not; he is an exceptional rider. He is going to have a breakout 450 rookie season IMO. He is that good.

Gonna be funny revisiting this thread in September after he loses to AC. Just sayin.
