Light weight seat foam

Actually I like to have a new fresh dirtscoot that I know got some good parts on it, beautiful to look at and probably a shitload of people are envy of Laughing and i don't even got the best parts..

Even tough I get smoked as hell by awesome riders on stock bikes, I even sponsor a guy that is a true talent!

But hey, that's why I work 700 overtime hours a year!Wink just take a moment, and look at that beautiful titanium. Riding dirt bikes is so much more than just "riding" too me.

I have both the Think and GUTs seats

Rank by lighter weight and there is a big difference between them
1 Think
2 Guts
3. Stock

Rank by comfort and there is a big difference between them;
1. Stock
2 Guts
3. Think

Sorry.. I prefer a stock seat by far. The seat is key to comfort and handling which I feels outweighs the very nice weight reduction the lightweight foams offered.

My crf complete guts seat was 950gr. Standard was about 1150

But it looks better
The foam is stiffer
It's grippier
Weighs less

4 x happy

The search button is your friend. I have posted the weights of all 3 seat foams weighed on the same high quality scale.

Half the fun of the sport to me is building, prepping and working on the bike. I love it, as good a therapy as riding.

Here are the weights you asked for;

Stock seat foam (dry!) = 630 grams .. after a few bike washes it will be another pound or two heavier!
GUTS Phantom Seat foam = 240 grams (saves .86 pounds over stock)
Think seat foam = 95 grams (saves 1.18 lbs over stock)

Renthal bar pad foam = 50 grams
Think bar pad foam = 10 grams (saves .09 lbs)

I kept a carefully detailed spreadsheet of my weight reductions.

Yes, but my butt meter didnt like the stiffer foam. The Think foam will actually raise you up on the bike along with your center of gravity. I bought another stock seat and will cover it with a tight plastic cover every time I wash the bike. This is what I learned from this $1k experiment.

My bike feels much better when seated in the corners with the stock foam. Saving weight is supposed to improve handling. Point is, I weigh a lot more than the seat foam and it is self defeating if you raise me up on the bike! The foam is not taller, you just dont settle into it like the stock foam.
