Marquez did what he wanted to do, or in reaction to Rossi's press conference grenade. If he was honest about it, he may have more respect right now. But hey, maybe not. Eddie Irvine was paid by Ferrari to do that...
I've watched Grand Prix motorcycles long before Rossi and have no problems when he leaves. His riding since Ducati days has been relatively uninspiring to watch, it was incredible that he managed to cling onto the lead for so long in 2015, but if your pace in the dry makes you the 3rd, sometimes 4th guy in the second half of the season, you're finished. Winning 2 of the last 15 races doesn't help your cause.
Lorenzo beat him in this year's championship by being faster and winning more. His consistent laps at Valencia were incredible...especially when they show the lap times, like they did at the PI broadcast, of 15 laps mostly within 0.1 sec. Boring to watch, but amazing discipline the sport had never seen the likes of.
Still waiting for the HRC data that will never be released.

he needed 2 podiums in the last 3 races, and he could not do that, he lost time on the leaders, once he got into 4th,
i do think MM was out to hinder Rossi, and it seems it worked,
the Iannone pass at Philip Island was the one pass that lost the Rossi the title,
its a shame it ended this way for sure, next year i think it will come down to the 2 honda riders, but it might come down to which rider, or which team adapts to the new tyres the quickest,

“The beginning of my season was bad and this avoided me arriving to Valencia with probably 20, 30 or even 40 points ahead,” Lorenzo added.

Lorenzo told the Movistar MotoGP TV channel shortly after Sunday's race that Marquez and Pedrosa's Spanish nationality had 'helped' him during the race, saying: “They knew what I had in play. The fact they are Spaniards like me helped me. That helped me because for sure in another kind of race they would have tried to overtake, which they didn't this time.
“If Valentino had been in my position and with Italians behind they would have done exactly the same. The title had to be for Spain.”
Asked to explain his comments in the post-race press conference, the Majorcan backpedalled somewhat, implying that he made the claims without fully understanding how the circumstances of the race had panned out for Marquez and Pedrosa.
“I could stay strong and finish winning the race, so it is true that I say that at the beginning of the interviews [intimating that Marquez and Pedrosa had helped him win by not passing him] but I couldn't see the race from outside, just knowing my difficult[y] on the bike to keep my rear tyre, especially on the right, and going into '32.0, '32.2 that I didn't expect to see,” Lorenzo said.
“I could get this conclusion [that Marquez and Pedrosa were holding back], but to be honest Dani and Marc explain very well; everybody see the race from the outside so I cannot have a clear opinion of that and I just have to trust what is said.”
Lorenzo also highlighted the gap of almost 20 seconds between the top three and Rossi in fourth place, suggesting his team-mate's final position was the best the 36-year-old could have hoped for regardless of whether he started the race from the back of the grid or not.
“You can see the classification and Valentino didn't have anything to lose, just to push at the limit to risk, but he finished 20 seconds behind us,” he said.

It took the Spanish national team cooperating to bump him out not his riding alone.
Which is no big loss, seeing how a bit of luster has been taken off what was once the premier RR series in the world with the MM/JL stroke fest .
I was looking at buying a new Honda or Yamaha play bike. Won't be buying either of those brands.
Bought my first new Yamaha in 1976. Got a new Honda 50 for Christmas in 1968.
No more of my money will be spent on any Yamaha or Honda products as long as JL and MM are in their employ.

And am thinking of selling my Honda's - HRC endorsed this un-sportsmanship behavior and even went so far as to lie about it.
Yamaha was not really involved in the "un-sportsmanship" of the Spanish ( Team Organization and Riders )
So I will probably keep my Yamaha - However Husqvarna looks like a good brand to support - They should leave MOTOPP alone ! Stick to their roots - Offroad and MX ( Chainsaws and ??? is why they bust in the first place ! ) Leave MotoPP and put all their money into MX and Offroad would be much better for the brand than diluting their resources in a waste of time total money loss formula - Look how well Kawasaki has done since they left MotoPP ! WSS as well they have a much better bike than Honda - Go figure if HRC spent all their MPP budget on MX and even some on WSS they might even win sometimes - They would get better return on investment as well - Now they have spent a fortune only to lose respect and brand loyal fans - Very Bad Marketing for Corporate ! MR HRC should get called to Head office to committed hara-kiri ! Or how else can he explained he helped Yamaha win the Championship and his riders had no interest in saving face and winning the last race ? If I pay a rider 10 Million Euro's and he pulls stunts like MM did the last couple of races ? What would you do if it was your 10M Euro ? Money talks bullshit walks ...
Personally I think the better man (in terms of speed/consistency) won in the end and would have no matter where Rossi started from in Valencia.
I know it's hard for Rossi fans to accept and I admit I'd probably feel the same way if Chad Reed would lead SX points all 2016 season, just to lose the championship in Vegas.

Since going to Ducati, Rossi has 7 wins, 2 poles and 8 fastest laps in the last 5 years. And asides from Argentina and Assen this year, honestly I can't remember any rides he had that were that special.
I was watching the race on Eurosport and before the race the Dutch commentators commented on the Sepangclash. They were more or less blaming the race director for taking the wrong decision. According to them a drive true penalty would have made things a lot clearer. The case would be closed after that. Maybe it would have cost Rossi a place or two but the outcome would be more fair...

Suzuki has to be out for the issues in the 60's were they bribed the rider to steel the MZ GP bike and plans,
KTM/Husqvarna has used team tactics by not letting riders race their team mates (02 when Ramon won the world 125 title i know of ), also there was issues with team riders when Langston won his 125 title as well, also KTM was donkey deep in the Falta incident were his title got taken away,
im sure i could find stuff for the other brands as well, this was just off the top of my head,
and these were all riders who were ordered to help their team mates, I can;t see anyone claiming Honda told MM to mess with Rossi,
