Wow. Thinks he can top 5 the Nats? I'm a Hughes fan, but, dang, that might be a bit of a stretch.

Top five or top three? Wow... If all the top riders were healthy AND riding the nationals, no freakin way. Top 10 maybe due to his endurance, but he didn't look all that quick in that vid, and the corner speed didn't look that great. Maybe it's just that the vid isn't doing him justice, but hard to say. I say go for it and we'll all see what happens.

I wish a few more of the current riders could have his confidence.

He was winning that series twodifferent times before hurting himself.

He would easily top five a national.

Was that Big L, or Pdub doing the video and interview work? Good job! I think Ryno needs to back off on his expectations of "Top 5 or Top 3" in an AMA national. I would say 10th spot is a lot more realistic. Not that I am hating on him, just keeping it real.

I dunno man, he looked like he was hauling ass to me. Very different style from when he did it full-time, too. He's standing and riding forward much more, almost Everts-like, but different.

Hughes was always fast, but usually would have some injury or crash that would take him out of a series. It would be great to see him at a few again, which it sounds like he's planning.

Well, I can tell you I rode with Rhino a few weeks ago out at Rhino Land and one thing for sure, the guy still loves to ride. His enthusiasm seemed like a little kid as he took me around his property and showed me some single track loops and some wicked jumps to hit.

On the track he was fast and as smooth as I have ever seen him.

Top five? - I wouldn't bet against that....

Seems like after all these years, he'd be sick of being "top 5".
