Got to ride it today and my word and im happy. Coming off a 15 Kawi, the power seems very comparable in bottom and top, mid range seems perhaps a little tamer but i was riding on very tackey soil today so that may have played a role. I think the slip on will help that though.
But man can i turn this much better then my previous 15' KX250f. Always seemed to stand up in the turns and generally not turn real well with the front on the kx, and this i seem to be able to put it anywhere. The fit and finish is well above the kx in my opinion having bought 2 of them new also new. The whole overall package im super impressed and happy with! cant wait to ride it again. haven't had that excitement feel for quite some time. Even seems easier to wash, airbox with the tool less entry is also badass. Super happy.
@maverick498 i have a FMF slip on coming, should help the mid range out.
I drained and refilled the coolant and then rode the bike around for 5-10 minutes with no coolant leaking but the radiators and engine are very hot after running the bike for a short period. I'm talking after running it from cold the radiator/engine will be very hot after 2-3 minutes of running.
I've read on here that you shouldn't leave modern 4-strokes idling for long or else they will do this. I also realize that I should have my ECU re-mapped for the U4.4 which I was going to have done this week.
Is what happened with the radiator spewing and the hot engine/radiator "normal" seeing as I left it idling for a little while and didn't get my ECU mapped?
I don't think you need to remap for the new fuel, ride it and see how it feels. If your going to do a pipe or remove the filter cage screen. Wait till then for a remap.
As for the U4.4. I had little decel pop with the stock exhuast. I'm picking up a slip-on shortly and I'm going with a remap just to be safe.

I would like to add a thank you to CarlinoJoe, Digger, Shane and everyone else who contributes to this thread. It's refreshing to see an informative thread like this one. Especially now a days where online forums are littered with a whole lot of nonsense. Thanks guys!

Now whilst riding between sessions i changed to the II mapping on the hanlebar to check out the other mapping option.
Now i would think doing this with the motor off is the correct procedure? Although i basically seen no difference in performance.
Now since reading the manual and seeing the dial in the airbox has to be set to 2 to have the advanced setting applied.
Is this the case on all stock models for it to not be applied from stock? Should i expect the advanced setting to work now? or do i need to change whilst idle?
Also its not clear to me how to engage the start mode also. Any help is appreciated
