I think that Honda have Bobreyshev and Paulin on contract for 2016, i would be surprised if he went MXGP, unless they think he has no chance to run against Herlings.

He's on a 5yr contract with Honda right now right? I think he said that they left the door wide open as far as choosing what bike and what series he wanted to run. I've never heard of a contract like that , and it sounds pretty damn cool that they are giving him free will to do what he wants.

I'm not really sure on that part JB. I can't remember where I saw this at but it was just like a week or two ago. He made it sound like it was the beginning of the 5yrs , not counting this one. I could be wrong on that.

Wow! Thats awesome! I'd like to see him run that #1 for Big Red next year personally. It's been a long time coming for them.

Well after reading the heading , I think its very unlikely that he will be riding a bike from Clews Competition Machines ?

Yeah man I agree. I thought that contract ( if I truly heard it right? ) was incredible. 5yrs really shows how much faith they have in him , and I bet Tim has to be feeling pretty good about a long term contract like that. AND , giving him free reign to race anything and any where he wants to go. Sounds incredible.

He is locked till 2020 by Honda. Yes, I think he will ride the MXGP in 2016, because they are still not competitive in power department with factory CRF 250. This bike has been in R&D just last 2 years, while 450 has been really trick for years.

Also this year was his 3rd season in MX2, if you count in a few races on that pos Marchetti KTM in 2013. He has been riding and racing 450 for 5 years. (ADAC mx masters, national races in Slovenia..).

It would be cool to see him move up onto a 450, I personally don't see it happening for 2016 though. It's good that Honda are giving him the option of choosing which class he rides, but I think if it was down to them he would ride MX2 next year

I don't think he will go mxgp next year. That would be a really weird move to not run the #1 on a Honda when they tried for so long.

He will be at disadvantage on the mx2 though for two reasons.
1) He is pretty heavy
2) The Honda is pretty slow compared to for example the KTM of Herlings and Jonass. I've heard 4hp down

3- he's not as good as herlings....

to be fair, he has a better chance of finishing on the podium regularly in mx2. MX1 (with everyone fit) next year is STACKED

he would be a good bet to finish top 3 in the champs in mx2, be lucky to get top 5 in mx1

i think after Febvre, it'd be wise not to underestimate any rookie moving from MX2 to MXGP now... Wink

personally, i'd like him to stay down and try and defend his crown.... see if he has anything for Herlings, but i'm certainly not going to slam the kid (like some people love to do... (not you 2strokerider)) about whatever choice he makes with HIS career
