Black friday tomorrow? How many points will the market close down tomorrow. And who's got the guess on which of the Big 3 file first? I say Chrysler in less then 2 weeks.

Best thing they can do. Now all 3 know where the UAW stands. GM and Chrysler should file and fock the UAW. Best way to do things now! Ford says they have enough cash to last through next year I believe.

Ford is in the best shape for the near future. From my understanding, GM is one of the largest holders of private retirment pensions in the US right now. A large percentage of those are supposed to die off by the end of 2010. GM is hoping to make it pas then and supposedly would be in much better shape.

I say fuck the UAW. I wish the car companies would tell them to go fuck themselves. You know what, those people aren't worth that much money. If it wasn't for the fact that it will affect so many other things, I could give two shits if those factory workers lose their jobs. They've done this to themselves.

New to the stock thing... is there any chance that Ford could actually benefit if GM and Chrysler go under?

My guess is that talks will resume tomorrow or early next week and somehow, somewhere the money will be appropriated. I think GM is done until they rid themselves of the UAW and any money they get will be money wasted and nothing more than delaying the process. The UAW has shown their true colors and has more that likely damaged their reputation to a point where some will never buy a car built by the UAW again. Not only are they holding their employers hostage but now are holding the American people hostage.

Bush's parting shot should be to disband the UAW, like Reagan did with PATCO
Let that be his legacy.
He can leave on doing the right thing, the best thing, for our Country

Bush is their last chance before next year.

Even if they dont socialize them, Chrysler and Ford are going know where. They both have the money.

Personally I say let them swim or sink. Its just a bandaid that is going to bite us in the ass in another 3 months when they come back with their handsout because they refuse to restructure. By then the American people will be to invested to let them fail and we will be carring every dead beat UAW workers pension and salery.

If you people believe that any of them are close to filing, you are dumber than the unions. The only thing that is going away is American jobs. We would only be so lucky to see the demise of the big three.

Looks like his parting shot might be to give them the money, and thus cementing his legacy as the worst President in US History. Do you really have any faith left that he would do the right thing?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The Bush administration said Friday that it will consider using the money set aside to help banks and Wall Street to rescue the auto industry.

The statement -- a change in the administration's long-held position -- might be the last best chance to keep troubled automakers General Motors (GM, Fortune 500) and Chrysler LLC out of bankruptcy.

Too bad Vettes weren't built by guys making minimum wage.
If they were, it might have held up a little better. You must be a union worker. Tell me, are all union workers bitter?
