You know, with all the whoopla about how strong Team France is (and they are) this year, I got to thinking this morning that with Barcia, Martin & Webb...TeamUSA might have a broader range of talent based on Barcia having international experience, Martin's domination this past year, and Webb looking so aggressive & strong against the world's best at the USGP.

Heck, I think we've really got as good a chance as we've had of winning since the All-Honda Dream Team days!

I believe so too, in fact I wouldn't be surprised at all when it seems Team USA is way stronger as the rest. USA or France will win it, that's for sure.

We have a good chance. I think if we get good starts and run up front we can take this.

The only thing that hinders me to believe that they will win easily is the fact that they didn't win last year (with an arguably much stronger team).
It will be close and they're no longer the big favourites but I still believe they will pull it off (especially with the injuries that team France has to deal with)

A few weeks back I thought France had the clear advantage but I'm now starting to think that it's far tighter between them and the USA - almost 50/50. No one can predict random luck or bad luck, but aside from all that we'll probably get a good indication very early on into the Saturday practices. The key for the Americans is adapting to the track (as they did in 05); I think at this point they'll be a little more clued up. For the French it has to be how Paulin will do with that knee and possibly also Marvin. Be a brave man to bet against Febvre, but you never know.

USA have a great chance no doubt about it. It'll be different for them coming in not being expected to win, and that might help them. There's a lot of teams in the same position though, it wouldn't surprise me if someone completely random won this weekend. Looking forward to it

France on homesoil is never an advantage for french, we don't hold pressure well usually. Paulin is obviously not as comfortable on the Honda he was on the Kawi and Musquin doesn't seem to be serene due to his brother's injury and said he had not ridden much since the end of the Nationals.

USA for the win to me.

This years team is younger, hungrier & much more aggressive (Webb...Barcia...) than last years group. Not to take anything away from them, but there is a young group of European riders coming up that require an equally young and fearless bunch to go against, IMO. Also, there are no riders on the team this year that are not HONORED to be a part of the team. They're not doing it because they have to, or are under pressure to do it...they have all come out and said that they are pumped to be asked to be on the team and are more than ready to ride their best for their country.

Team U.S.A. has a great chance! Love this young hungry group, ya they may all get bad starts or crash out, but they may all win a moto too!!
I think it will be a dogfight between the U.S., G.B. and France with some of the best racing at an MXON in years.

The only thing I see that could blow first or second is 2 of our 3 guys seem to lose a lot of time on the ground...

The pic below applies on so many levels. Yes I believe we have a great shot at winning, and yet so many other teams do as well. However America is the only team that if they get second it is treated as last. I guess that's the price you pay for a history of dominance!

Good luck to all the teams this weekend, and lets go USA!!!

well, while you might be right this only applies to Dungey last year. I don't think Tomac or Martin were not hungry enough.
But you bet that Barcia and Webb will be! Webb will be laying his life on the line if it's necessary Whistling

Love this hungry team. As long as they get good starts and stay off the ground.. they have a great chance.if the French team gets back up to where they were that being that Marvin starts ridinng the way he was and paulins injury is ok it should be a dog fight between the two

Its a given with those 3 riders, one will have a bad moto at least, the key will be only having one moto where someone crashes and if there another bad moto, having damage control, I don't see France making many mistakes...

Team France and USA are on a level of their own, compared to the other teams. France having a little advantage.

USA for the win to me.

I am afraid you are right ... Plus Paulin and Musquin are riding injured since 2 months ... I cant bet against Paulin to win a moto but with the current conditions it would be a huge achievements, if only 1 rider can do it that is him.

Of course there are still good probabilities (40%?), but unless team USA does not get confortable on this track which is also a possibility, they will be hard to beat (about 50% probability). Team UK can also makes a 3 way battle (10% probability). In all cases, I expect it to be tight, and with as many riders are injured/or not at 100%, the average overall score to make the podium should be lower than usual.

If our guys stay off the ground, we win. I think musquin will prove to be the difference between 1st and 2nd for France. He didn't look very good at the USGP.

He's not a 450 is he? If he is I agree with you, but if not he'll be strong.

Its a checkers or wreckers kind of team (or it appears that way to me). I think if we can get some good starts and everyone stays upright we end up in one of the top two spots. It could also implode on us fielding a team of three young, eager riders riding with a chip on their shoulders and we could have a weekend full of unforced errors and end up off the podium. One thing is for sure, they will give it everything they have.

If he disappoints now, France will probably never pick him again lol

Good point, I don't think he is on the 450. I didn't really consider that, I just assumed the MXDN had the same age limit as the GP's but now I remember AC222 running the 250 last year. I hope Marvin has a good run because like crusty said, if he doesn't he may never be invited back.
