Stop at 7 sisters. Hike all the way through the bamboo forest to the big falls in the back. You won't regret it, I promise.......

Cngratulations! Lunch (today or any day you are here except Wed) is on me as a wedding gift at the Fish Market in Paia right at the corner of Hana Highway and Baldwin if that is in your flow. I work up in Kula at 2:30 so 11 45 would be perfect if you are into it. Off today Labor Day working in my office getting caught up.

If you have a motorcycle license i can get you the locals 150 rate instead of the 200 normal fee for a dual sport. All gear is provided and it is a 24 hour rental.

I can also direct you to some nice hiking trails and mountain bike park up in Makawao that will have you thinking you're in Pacific NW.

We sent to racers to LL for the second year in a row Breanna Gomes and Nick Saucey. Right now the hard core Maui racers just shipped 20 bikes in a container to Kauai for their INSANE Labor Day off road single track event where they cut a fresh trail every year through virgin tropical vegetation.

Edit you can't leave too early for the round trip to Hana and also whatever you do don't forget to be checking out the night sky every evening while you're here. for your Hana trip pack a picnic lunch for sure and plenty of water

Goats are very cool as I have learned the last couple of years. I helped save a new born goat that was too weak to nurse. His name was Little Willie and it was a sad day when he and Lambchop left my friends property for stud duty.

Wow thanks for the kind offer Rock! Very gracious of you. We are staying in Hana tonight and back tomorrow but we are meeting some friends mid day.

Funny...we planned our honeymoon and 4 different couples that we're friends with were here at the same time so we've been plenty busy hanging with others. We are def going to try and hit up a ton of hikes on the way back tomorrow (including 7 Sacred Pools). My buddy's wife was with us today and she's 7 months pregnant so we only made a few stops.

Only a few miles outside of Paia (right near Pea'hi aka Jaws surf spot) we saw some guys unloading a couple KTMs from a trailer off the side of the highway. I bet he trails are so fun and crazy technical around here

Want to know how to spend more money than MX Racing?
Buy a horse.

Until it gets sick.... Or you need to take it a LONG distance. the thought process for saving money with s horse is similar to that of people who think they'll be saving money because an MX bike is easier on gas. They always forget maintenance etc.

Very good points The thing that is unique about my situation is I am horse central surrounded by paniolos who have forgotten more about horses that most people will ever know. It is kind of like I live in Corona but probably more like I am living at GH. When I walk to my car I see horses, when I drive down to the main road I see horse then see horses on my way to work.

Horse distractions aside MX, helping the sport grow and working with special needs youths are my passions. To that end I am hoping the Maui Raceway Park grows into a facility with bike rentals, dealerships and other anchor businesses. We've got a real diamond in the rough over here with a good circle track, kart track, drag strip and MX track. Following is a letter I had in the local paper back on August 7th that has gotten people talking. Relationships are the key to everything but even more so since this place is so small.

If you are ever in Paia go to the Flatbread Company. Their flatbread is awesome. Rock & Brews down the street has a good selection of beers on tap.

OP sorry for the hijacking of your thread

Today on my way home from work around six PM. I had seen the guy riding around upcountry before but had never gotten this close up. We went through this stop sign and continued in tandem for another 4 miles or so. It wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd wheelie I noticed something that made me go WOW.

How many wows do you see?

Nick Saucey one of our two LL racers works at the Flatbread Company in Paia. We had a fund raiser for Nick there last year. My favorite place in Paia is the Fish Market on the corner then walk up to Mana Foods for some soft serve ice cream,

I lived in Viet. Most people ride their scooters with just sandals on their feet. Surprisingly not a lot of foot injures. I have seen a lot of young men get hammered drunk and try to ride. Viet has a helmet laws but I saw a lot of people not wearing their helmet correctly. Head injury is still a huge problem in the Vietnam.
That's called natural selection, Darwin wrote a thing or two about that
