Hot and slightly humid at the Ironman...

Forecast is claiming 85 degrees with 58% humidity. Seems to favor Martin at the moment.

That looks like perfect conditions to me. Hot is in the mid to upper 90's.

Did you hear MM say he was struggling with the heat on Saturday? I think it was only 88 in Utah with less humidity.

I would rather race in a dry 100 than a humid 85. The humidity just zaps you. Advantage Martin IMO.

The forecast is cooling down quite a bit now with less humidity. Good for MM, bad for JM.

58% seems really comfortable to me. It's usually 70-90%

Exactly, it doesn't start getting muggy around here until the humidity hit the 90% range. 58% humidity is like a spring day.

People often underestimate the impact of the sun out west, especially in the sunbelt states. It's a LOT stronger out west in states like NM, Utah, AZ, etc than it is in the midwest. I'll take 85F, humid and partly cloudy or overcast any day over 100F and pure bluebird sun. I grew up in the midwest in the Ozarks of MO, so know what the summers are like there. Out west, it can be a different animal if you aren't prepared for it. Not trying to turn this into a weather.com sword fight or which climate is hotter, just pointing out that it is different for people not prepared for it. I know there are really uncomfortable summer days back in the midwest. Just trying to point out that 100F, dry in the shade isn't bad - but out in the sun is a whole nother story. Radiant heat can really get to some people, whereas some people don't mind it as much. Personally, the humidity doesn't bother me and the sun wears me down.

Hip waders! Woohoo

Edit: Or a big cooler full of water and one of those mini umbrellas you wear on your he'd. This is the Midwest so who knows what will show up on any given day. Just be prepared for it.
