I'm just about to order a new top end kit for my 2005 rm125. Right now I have the Wiseco racer GP series piston in it, but I'm just curious what the difference really is between the racer GP series piston and the standard piston thats not as expensive.

If you don't know what tolerances are maybe you should reconsider rebuilding yourself and let someone else purchase the parts and do the rebuild

also some of those wiseco gp series pistons require you have the head machined cuz they are flat tops, if i were you id put in what i took out, wisecos have a number on the top buy the same one

GP Pistons usually don't have an intake port on the piston either.

The stock piston is a flat top, I think the wiseco gp series just has a special coating and a thicker crown

I believe the GP Series kits have the TiN coated ring as well.
