And at this point he is probably trying out different pipes just to figure out the bike and get a feel of the respons.
And by that TBT he is probably reefering to him riding a Yamaha again after all these years.
Other than serious pro level or expert level RACERS which make up about 5% of the buying public market AT BEST and even less when you remove all of those serious Racers that DIDNT get the bike for free, a lease, or next to nothing purchase price because of sponsorship. Of all the things a mfg could spend in R&D money to incorporate into a production bike line, incrporating this "magic button" still baffles me as to why it is so necessary for all of the Japanese Mfg's to include as standard on their bikes…. Its just something I cant imagine 100% of riders buying a new 450 will need let alone USE EFFECTIVELY and make it beneficial to them, remember it ONLY works off the start of a Motocross race, no need for offroad (gncc, enduro etc) races… and I don't mean to sound like a broken record but again it's someone who has to actually be dedicated to racing the bike which also dis-includes practice weekend warrior riders, hell weekend warriors in general. Less than 5% of people that buy the bike will ever need to use it, in contrast the 270mm new oversized disc brake on all the bikes now is a universal improvement the launch control IMO is one of the most worthless gimmicks ever Applied to dirtbikes in the fashion mfg's have joined together on.
I hope someone can prove my opinion wrong bec I'm likely missing a big deal here and I've racked my brain to understand the necessity just don't see a use for it at all especially Yamaha who has resisted the air forks trend . Rant over lol!
Pit Row
Holeshot is huge key to winning, launch control increases odds and average starting position? It also saves the buyer from shelling out serious cash for a get or vortex ignition. I also don't think it cost them that much in r&d to design compared to new cases, head casting, cam profiles, etc. Low cost to put something "cool" and effective on the new model line.
Its Chad.
