Im not on about coming to the GP's , im on about before that, RV's huge contract kicked the ass out of Kawasaki's budget in the US , i remember someone asking why there were very few privateers on Kawasaki , and a few of the guys said that RV sucked all the money out , and the contingency was all gone. Will search for the story.

So you're telling me it's RV's fault for getting paid? I must have missed the part where he kidnapped the Kawi execs, put a gun to their heads, and forced them to offer him a bunch of money. I swear dude, it was annoying at first, but now you're grasping for any reason to bad mouth him and it's just pathetic. Get over yourself.

After all those years of Pure Dedication to Training...
And Winning.
And Crashing.
And Injuries.
And Surgery.
And Rehab.

And, then, after ALL OF THAT...you end up having to fulfill an "Extra Year" of a Contract that you thought was over...& during THAT YEAR...that Extra Year that ya really didn't want...

You get injured again?

All the while, ya just want to grab the wife, get in the Raptor...and drive to Tahoe...or get on your Harley and take her for a ride...to anywhere...no plans. No schedule to keep. No place you have to be...and no one or no thing that you "must" do...after 20 years of nothing but racing, racing, racing...& literally not much else...after all of that...

Well, If that's where your head was at?

You'd "retire", too.

I'm stoked for the guy.
"And, then, after ALL OF THAT...you end up having to fulfill an "Extra Year" of a Contract that you thought was over...& during THAT YEAR...that Extra Year that ya really didn't want..."

"that you thought was over." He didn't know when his contract ended? He must use the same guys to read his stuff that JS7 uses. FTE needs to go to races and read these guys legalese maybe?

I posted the following in another thread. And before you all call me a hater, I don't know RV2 personally, just the public figure/MX racer RV2. And if MX/SX wasn't such an inbreed super secret cult, we fans may see things differently.

What's that old saying, don't shit where you eat

RV just took a big shit on the entire MX community this season.

His actions say what he thinks of the MX scene IMO. He took the money and ran. Did he earn it? Debatable.

He can ride a dirt bike, no doubt, and he has the numbers to back it up, but is he a class act?

So far it seems Ping is the only US industry guy with the balls to call it like he sees it.

Kawasaki brand ambassador, let me know how that works out. Kawi would be better off hiring me and my clapped out KX-500. Sean Collier, hire that guy Kawi.

What a bunch of babies in this thread. He came, he saw, he conquered. He's now retired. Get over it. Boo fucking hoo if he didn't meet every one of you whining babies every need to feel like he deserved to get paid what he did. It's none of your fucking business anyway.

Do you think RV will hand over the #2 as fast as KDUB handed over the 14?

And i don't think RV took lot of money out of the sport. Remember the PR's at the start of the season. RV coming to the Gp's was the biggest news ever.

He must have held them at gun point to make them sign a contract like that.... Too bad they didn't have you on retainer when they hammered out the details on that deal.

This year, he shit on the sport this year. His exit from the sport was managed piss poor IMO. Like I said, and many others, he's bad dude, numbers prove it. But his PR is C Class, if that. But it doesn't matter anymore, as he's gone and I doubt he cares. It just seems that a sport that made him a millionaire, he pissed on it and left. Maybe he's bitter about something? Took his toys and went home. He didn't seem to have much humility when he left.

As far as I'm concerned RV retired at the the end of last year.

The little foray in Europe was because he could...it didn't work so now he quit whilst he can still walk.

Let me clue you into something here, this ain't American Idol Wink This sport didn't make him a millionaire. Sacrifices he made with his life and limb, literally, since he was what, FIVE? That's what earned him his fortune.

All I want from any bad mofo on a moto scooter is to see them doing what they do best, twist the throttle. When they are finished and had enough, so be it. I'm just glad I got to witness it, it is truly jaw dropping at times.

What is the benefit of RV coming back to race the final few rounds? Silencing some of his critics? If he's not prepared, he will not be RV. Does he have the desire to race? The cost of racing is getting hurt right before retirement.

If RV is not going to bring RV's best, its best he retires. RV is doing what's best for him and the industry. Enjoy your new life.

As far as JMB. I am a little surprised he's critical of RV. It's been stated by numerous people that he rode around in 1992 and could not wait to be on a road bike.

In my opinion.... both are legends and I am fan's of both.
