The way some people on this board turn on the participants of this sport is truly shocking and sad at times.
I hope he is better...we could use him for the MXdN.

I really think the injury to his spine and numbness he was said to have has scared the shit out of RV. He's always talked about everytime he gets on his bike, he's risking a career ending crash. I'd walk away too! The bigger question is: Does he have to give any money back?Shocked

Look up the word 'embargoed' in the dictionary.. Or Google, if you don't know what one of those is.

Contract will have been dissolved on the grounds of non fulfillment, with the proviso that neither party speaks further about it.

But you won't hear about it.. Think of it as MX's version of building 7.

I would be reasonably certain that contract (negotiations) language will have addressed any kind of injury as not part of Non fulfillment.

Bldg 7 falling just plain no sense what-so-ever!!

Here is a little tidbit of information I came across. The injury was something that needed to heal , and it's obviously the reason why he's sat out. But also from what I understand is KRT wasn't this " Dream team " some people think it is and RV was sick and tired of dealing with an under powered , ill handling problematic bike that was nothing like the ones prepared here in the states , or which he was basically promised he would have when he came over. The team couldn't get the bike close to what he wanted and it was like talking to a brick wall. Probably a very good reason why Paulin left as well.

Just sayin' what I heard.

I'm no MX insider, nor do I play one on TV or on Vital MX. But IMO, RV2 is done. I doubt we see him race professionally ever again.

Let me say why I believe that. My wife broke her tail bone a few years back. Hurt like hell she said. Messed her up bad. Then a few years later she had a stroke and is now in a wheelchair. She says she'd rather have the stroke than the broken tail bone.

If we believe what others have said, that RV2 was never really about his legacy or breaking and setting records. If MX truly was a job that he's burned out on, I can see him walking away. Why wouldn't he? He probably has plenty of money, set for life.

I also think he underestimated the MXGP scene and went in with a lackadaisical attitude and wasn't up to speed. Would he of gotten there, we'll never know will we?

And I doubt there's any lawsuits pending or holding of pay. I would assume there's some kind of injury clause. It's not like he just walked out while he was healthy. And as far as RV not communicating, it may be true, if he's calling it a day, what does he have to lose by burning bridges. Like I said, I doubt we see him race professionally ever again.

Underpowered? Hahahaaaaa, who wrote/said that jeffro? Come on what's the source.

I'm certainly not digging at you but come ooooooooooooooooon, nobody really buys that surely.
Jamie , the under powered thing was just a small list of things I had heard. To me the bike didn't look under powered. ( but it's hard to tell that from a TV screen ) From what I listened to , it was a combination of things , like a bunch of things that he wanted fixed / done to the bike and they were working on getting it right , but just slow at doing it. His riding style is different from the GP regulars , so finding a competitive balance on a bike , on tracks he hadn't ever raced before , with no back up settings was tough. And also from what I gather , that IS NOT the reason why he hasn't started riding again , it's because his ass still hurts!

I've never broken my tail bone , but have bruised it. I remember that SOB hurting for a good 4 months before I could sit in a chair the right way. RV broke his in 3 spots I guess and did something to one of his vertebrae in his back. To me that pretty much sounds like a " season ender " to me , but I don't have the doctors like he does.

I also didn't hear one way or the other if he will return this year. I don't even know if he knows that. But from what I hear is , he won't.

And on a side note : I don't think that takes anything away from the GP guys like Nagl , Febvre , AC , GP , Desalle , ect.....all those guys were hauling ass. I'm not making any excuses for RV , I'm just saying what I had heard , that's all.

As a British person, now living in the US its been fascinating to see the reaction to him racing in the GP's and in fact the reaction to the GP's in general seem to take a turn. I hope I am not speaking out of turn in saying that a lot of Americans were ignorant to the quality that existed in the GP's and lacked interest in it as a result. RV might have come up short of everyone's expectations, but I think we have to be thankful he raised the profile of the GP's and I think its fair to say gave a few US race fans a new series to take a long term interest in.

You may be correct but RV's lack of of success I think has more to do with how race rusty and hurt he was.......

Proof? What pro loops out on a straight?

I for one thought RV would be 30 seconds ahead, after watching him race and crash, man he wasnt even close to being race ready. Tyla obviously did nothing to help his race preparedness. Gotta be bummed hurt feelings all over Kawasaki right now!

Bingo! The shittiest thing about this sport are people who act like assholes to riders, teams, and other fans. This is for any rider..... people think they need to act or react a certain way or else. RV has had major surgeries how many times while in the 450F class? 3+? Its a lot and if RV wants to solitude to reflect good for him. RV owes none of these fucking tools on VitalMX or the MX media a damm thing.

If RV retires or continues racing.... THANK YOU! Its been a pleasure watching you kick fucking ass.

The other is the staggering cost of motocross. $10k bikes.... congrats KTM.

i think he should have gone to europe earlier and prepare better for the different types of tracks , preparing on US tracks didnt help him i think ....he was racing 6 months before the MXGP started , so race rusty shouldnt have been an issue in my opinion ... in my opinion there were to many situations to adapt to , differnet bike, new team , the whole MXGP schedule , the tracks ,his riding style .... butt stil he had very impressive results considering those problems , i think he should have had more time and it would be allright and see him win races ...too bad he got injured , we will never know what would have happend ...i said from day 1 he should have signed for 2 years , first year to adapt etc and 2 year go for the title .but he got all my respect for coming over and trying , i wish he would continue another year but dont think thats gonna happen

Yeah cheers jeffro Like I say I wasn't digging at you I was just asking, as I doubt the bikes are underpowered based on talks with those I know on uk teams who race gps's.

I'm not for one minute going to get at his injury, I've been hurt, I've had some strange injuries like most I expect and the "book" isn't the same on fix time for all, I landed on a cut off oak stump once while racing in forests and I didn't race again all year, nothing serious, no broken bones but my back wouldn't allow it, every compression was like when you get calf cramp in the pool- it just stopped me in my tracks. Backs are unique and shouldn't be screwed with. Let's be honest the injury would be the start, then secondary diagnosis and other findings, then the other things he's not happy with and it all mounts up.

Ha , It really irks you doesn't it.

Just accept that some people have contacts , and some people don't , There is a way of going about business that means I get to hear things , some of which are repeatable, some are not, but keeping that trust is what keeps you in the loop.. do I know everything that is going on , no not by a long shot, but I know what I do know.

What I do know , is that there are people who know people , who know people, and everything is 3rd hand .. that's not news , its gossip. When its first hand, that's when you know its right.
