We had a woods race here in northern pa that was pretty brutal. It was very tough (I raced it). About ten minutes after Mike finished, he collapsed. Was taken to a local hospital and haven't heard anything since. Here's a picture my girlfriend took of him on the woods.

Hope everything is OK with Brownie. Like 500guy said, hope it's just exhaustion or fatigue.

I don't know medically how it works but he was underdressed getting sprayed with water. Then he was sitting on a cooler a few minutes later and dropped. Was not responding. It really wasn't hot here today but it was a brutal track for 2 hours. Not an inch to breathe.

That's why I was surprised. He is tough. He started fourth, dropped to about seventh, then made a last late charge back to fifth, I believe. There was also a about 1 hour qualifier earlier in the day. We also ran 2 one hour qualifiers yesterday in the dumping rain. He lapped me by the way.

Holy crap, I really hope he's alright! Mike is a bad dude and took time to talk to my dad and I at the Sac endurocross last year, really nice guy and it reminded me of why I'm a big fan of his. Hopefully he just lacked nutrition or something not so serious, get well Mike!

Let's hold off on the speculation. I'm sure we'll have actual facts soon enough.

Brownie's a tough old bastard. I'm sure he'll whip this like every other obstacle he's come across. Prayers going his way

Edit.....must have been typing at the same time as EK. Thanks for the update, and glad to hear it

Thank you Flex!! I hate hearing about illness's due to heat. They can be extremely brutal on a persons body. Really glad to get good news from this instance.

Great to hear he's ok! Met him at Millville one year, just a real down to earth guy.

Glad he is ok.
85 is plenty hot especially if humidity is high. I have suffered heat exhaustion in the Arizona heat and now anything above 70 is no good imo

Glad to hear he is okay, heat exhaustion is no joke, along with dehydration. What race was it by the way, there is an event in PA that I've heard many horror stories about. An off road event that has no where to rest is the most brutal of any kind IMO, constantly fighting the bike and terrain with no "breather" is pure hell.

It was the "tough as rorr" race. They had the regular rorr race earlier this year. This was supposed to be like ergburgh(sp). It was. There was a guy that raced the red bull race that said this was harder. He didn't finish today. It's my back yard (almost literally) and I thought I was gonna die. Rorr= reading off road riders.

Glad to hear he's OK! On another note, dammit! I should pay more attention to more forms of moto. This was 15 minutes (or less) from where I live and I did a whole lot of jack sh*t today....lol I did see a lot of bikes in trucks but just figured everyone was heading up the Burma.
