good stuff!

especially if you cut the silencer about 2.5 inches. it's a dual step, so you'll need to have someone do it that is handy, but it helps a ton.


also, put a bigger end cap on it and take out the spark arrestor.


once you've done all that -- you're dialed.

Owned 4, broke 4, 0 for 4 on warranty. The last one I only owned for 2 weeks before the bracket broke mid-moto. Everyone I know has had similar luck. '09s have a different bracket so maybe they'll have better luck, I've moved on to another brand.

I call BS. FMF SUCKS. power wise ok but our can broke where mid pipe joins. welded back (tacked while still on bike so would be inline). then broke around nut where bolted to subframe. (rewelded same way). now coming loose around all rivets on can mounting bracket. terrible design IMO. has no way to flex when taking a hard impact. I expected more, allot more from a company such as FMF we will look elsewhere.

How do you "Call BS" on someones opinion of a product? That makes no sense. You had one bad experience, that's unfortunate. I had multiple bad experiences regarding the product mentioned by the OP.

Never reweld an exhaust, it won't work for long enough to warrant the effort. FMF probably would have given you a new one if you called customer service before you tampered with it. PC has never warrantied anything for anyone I've ever known.

I had a FMF 4.1 ran it for a while the header had a pin hole it where they started and stoped on the weld showed it to them they gave me a new one no ??? asked, Then went up later because my mid-pipe would not come out of the muffler after trying everything we could think of, They sold me a new muffler and mid pipe for $100.00 Every since then Ive ran FMF pipes on everything i have.

Most cracking on a 4 stroke exhaust, unless crash related or tire clearence, can be traced to worn out packing. When this goes the vibrations are too much for the mounts and muffler to handle. A freshly packed stocker will out perform a worn aftermarket, the FMF packing is cheap(10 bucks at Cycle Gear) and one kit will do both the mufflers on a CRF250. If this was a 08 or 09 YZ450 or 07-09 RMZ 250, it would be a different story.

+ 1 Packing is the biggest thing in making any pipe last stock or aftermarkert.
