When and how would Dungey want to Retire?

As mentioned somewhere Dungey is 24 - 25 yrs old now and he is on track and smart enough to win the 2015 Outdoor title.

So far He has done enough to rank right up with the Legends of MX and SX and all without a serious injury.

He has reached that point where if he wants to he can retire as he has accomplished both on the track and in the bank. He has earned a comfortable retirement and is in a position to choose when and how to bow out.

Marvin is due to make the jump to MX1 soon and he wont be cheap....how old is MM anyway?

Its going to be tough next year and tougher the year after. Will Dungey want to retire while he is on top? Or will he keep going and work he's way backwards through the field like Reed is doing?

Will he pull a Ricky and retire with a #1 Plate and do a part series as a farewell?

Dungey sure has looked after himself on and off the track. In short a sponsors dream athlete. With that said I'm sure he will remain popular and as the ideal blue-eyed-boy roll model he will continue to sell bikes and product for a good few years after he calls it quits.

He's smart, real smart and is always up there ready to take over for when someone else crashes out. He probably can go for another 3 - 4 years as a title contender.

Still not my favourite rider but how can one not respect the guy.

Dungey turned 25 in December... He's barely old enough to rent a car... He doesn't seem to ride "over his head" when ever
it becomes a job, maybe that's when... Maybe 32, I read he considers fitness a hobby...

Ryan Dungey is one of the best american mx/sx racers ever, and on top of that he has the potential to do a better version of Windham. Be a fan favorite, race til he's 33-35 years old but with championships. = (Way)Better version of Kevin Windhams career.

H's likely being groomed as DeCoster's replacement as manager of KTM Racing and ambassador for the brand. I could also see him in a hybrid role for a couple years where he manages and also races for the enjoyment, while another rider becomes their #1. Guaranteed, his work with KTM has been about more than racing from day one.

That's interesting and makes sense. You never want to see someone at the top of their game go past it by 5 or 10 years. To answer the question, it will probably be when RD5 wants to hang up the MX Boots.

SX is sure going to be interesting next year. We may yet see how good Dungey really is. JS7 will be back and he will be faster than Dungey and that comes with risk.

He will have a legit chance of bagging a championship for the next few years.
