It's even southeast Brabant. They live within a 20 mile radius.
As for who to put on the US 250: I don't understand why all you guys want to put Martin or Webb on the 250 when you can put an experienced guy on the little bike. Bagget and Martin weren't impressive in MXoN. When healthy:
Villopoto
Tomac (or is he still out by then?) 250
Dungey
yeah last year was agonising & i'd love to see us get on the podium ........ not sure we have the right ingredients for it this year with TS DW & JN all coming back from injury....... they always seem to give a good account of themselves though
Peter Collins at Hyde Road is speedway heaven....... what a legend.......you must have had great times......have you heard the national stadium is currently being built for the Aces? http://nationalspeedwaystadium.tumblr.com/ ............... it was the Rockets for me in the early 80's

Ik ben net aangereden, want ben net afgewerkt
Yeah , Hyde Road was a great place for the speedway in those days , even had a fun fair at the side !
PC was a great rider in a time when UK speedway was in its prime , and had many world class riders. I can always remember the atmosphere was fantastic when PC was up against the likes of Olsen , Mauger , Michanek etc .
He was not renowned for his gating , so that made for some great racing , as he usually had to come from behind. You have probably seen it , but check out the footage of his world title win at Katowice , some great rides there.
I remember his starting skills well.... but he wasn't as slow from the start as Chris Morton..... they were both great from the back but it made things nailbiting.... British speedway was still great in the 80's but sadly has died a slow steady death ever since .... I dont think the machinery is helping with laydown engines and the new silencers making the bikes on edge and less geared for passing....
do you catch any of the SGP's?
As you say , both very exciting riders to watch when coming from behind.
Although , I am not much more than a casual armchair fan these days , I still do keep up with how the SGP series is doing and watch the majority of them when I can . Although we have British interest with Tai Woffinden , I always find myself rooting for Greg Hancock !
Will never forget going down to the front by the track, wondering why everyone was stood high up. First lap and we got well and truely shaled by those great riders!
That is true, and I think they could still qualify properly. On longer motos, it is tough to say, but for sure speed & talent does not disappear overnight.
I was thinking the same yesterday. JMB at last Vet' MXdN was not that far off Dowd, who is an animal that scored some good points in the Nationals not so long ago. I am sure these riders can still qualify for the Sunday event, the crowd would go bananas !
Chris Morton is the Belle Vue boss now.... makes me feel old!
Greg Hancock is a great guy... a real ambassador for the sport... i'll always root for Greg alongside the Brits not least because it gives me hope that a 45 year old can be world champion
The only US team that could win nowadays is this: ET, RV and JS7
The team I'd pick would be RD, JMart and then pick from this list top to bottom:
ET
RV
Canard
Baggett
Barcia
Seely
Anderson
Tickle
Peick
And without ET or RV I predict a 4'th place after: France, Belgium and GB. With any of them racing I predict a third or even a second if everything falls into place. Forget about France. They will win big time.
I hope all Belgian guys are back in shape in that time, so we can keep our record of 19 podiums in 20 years. (hoping top spot offcourse
Pit Row
Exactly, and I would not count Germany and the Netherlands out either. KR is usually flying at the MXdN, Nagl is capable of winning both motos too, only 1 good result needed. For the Netherlands, Herlings may have a big day, Coldenhoff is sometimes capable of challenging for the win, only 1 good result needed. That is should be fun !
Team Brabant dark horse with Herlings Coldenhoff and Bogers! If all are healthy I'm thinking:
1. France
2. Belgium
3. USA
4. Brabant (or the Netherlands for the confused
5. Germany
6. Great Britain
7. Switzerland
8. Australia
its a toss up between canard and RV.
I wouldn't write the USA off too soon though. They've won with teams that haven't been that good on paper before and at the moment I certainly wouldn't put them behind GBR. We've had a terrible year so far with injuries, there's still time for it to turn around but it's not looking so good for us.
I think it will be: 1. France 2. Belgium 3. USA/Germany
As long as Egon Muller doesnt start singing i'm happy
