I wonder if Ron Bishop kept his baja streak alive. Ron owns a KTM/Husaberg dealership in Escondido and has been in every baja 1000 race since the beginning. Attaboy Ron.

Talk to Randy Sheckler, (Colton's boss) Colton, was going to try and make it, but the Mexico water got to him...he was sick. No Sign, of Justin, nor Bryce...Bryce crashed pretty hard, his first ride, according to Sheckler.

I had quite a few friends racing it this year. Im bummed I missed it! My buddy Bob Johnson won the +40 class and the season championship. Also had another friend Wayne Matlock got 1st overall ATV . Another team of friends went 3rd quad overall. Pretty good race for everyone. I wish mexico wasn't so effed up right now. I love racing down there. Maybe next year

Just talked to Bryce's dad, Bruce and Bryce is fine. The crash was in a slower section luckily, so he wasn't injured. He did have a blast and can't wait for next year. Great job!!

My source, may be gone until after the long week end, phone goes straight to message.
I would imagine that they gear pretty tall, for the high speed roads. I mean, after all, it is a road race.
There were areas where the trucks were topping 120 mph, so would figure the bikes around 80-90 mph, maybe more.

I am wondering about the light set up. Mine suspension wise is Tits. Gearing, I am playing with as we speak. Did they do any engine work? When you find out shoot an email, I sent you mine or post something. Thanks

Are you talking about the KLX that Meyers and Esposito ran? I heard a 15/ 48 and it was good for 98mph or so. There bike is basically stock engine wise. So are the JCR bikes. They have a slightly higher comp piston and some head work but thats it. You don't really hit to many sections in baja that allow you to go faster than 95-100 mph. Vegas to Reno this year I it 98mph a few times but that was on a very flat and wide open fire road section. Baja doen't really have to many of those( at least the past few course haven't)

I am just curious about certain things. I am very satisfied with the stock engine. I lost a little low end by changing the pipe to eliminate the lowboy, it gets in the way. I want to mainly know if anything has changed on setup since the 4th place bike last year. It was pretty much stock also engine wise. I am looking into light setups and want to know if any different setups are out there. Baja Designs has a self contained 8" that you don't have to rewind the stator with. It is pricey though. Also Trail tech has a system I may go with. The stock light is for emergency only. Are you sure 15/48 stock is 13/48. I am going to try 14/49 or 50. I don't want to lose too much more low end.

I think the gear changing just allows the bikes to work better for Baja and IMO a mandatory change because there are plenty of sections that are 100+ in the 500 and 1000 courses.
