Is it bad to feel so frustrated?

I don't know why guys have to go SO WFO when they just don't need to.

I remember somewhere that Stew said he was pissed if he only beat someone by 10 seconds when he could have beat him by 20. I REALLY hope that's not the mind set that Eli has taken this season. The WFO, checkers or wreckers attitude has cost us WAY more good seasons then its provided good tight point races.

Hopefully Eli will come back soon, and have no lingering injuries, but if he doesn't, his crash cost us a great season.

I hope Kenny can steal a couple more wins from Dungey than Alessi did a couple years ago, when this EXACT same scenario played out with Stewart winning the first 2 rounds then crashing out. I hope the series can remain interesting, but I am calling a Dungey championship win by a huge margin.

If Kenny can can't keep him honest, Ryan is gonna add a huge # of wins to his already very impressive outdoor resume.

WFO don't always win, that's why Dungey can jump in shiot and come out smelling like a rose, but its dayum impressive to watch when a guy crosses the checkered and being interviewed by the time 2nd and 3rd hit the mark. I think wfo is just the mind-set of some of the top gun's (Hello Bubba), I'm hoping ET comes back healthy and strong but I bet he wont be 100% WFO by next round. Was it just me, did anyone else see the crash coming when he came bouncing into the chops ?? I thought UH OH Blink , then WHAM. Shocked

I don't think he was WFO look at his lap times but yeah I think this will be a good lesson learned to back it down whenever possible.

While I admire Eli for the straight up ass whooping that he administered in five motos, I think your point is well taken. The only person that should be frustrated is Eli.

Not like I've been there and done that, but I'll bet its like a football team. How often do you see one get a big lead, go into some sort of "prevent" mode, then lose.

It sounds easy and simple enough to say, "Go out and give it 90%" , but I dont think most of these guys are able to do that.

Play with fire you're gonna get burned. It sucks to see anyone get hurt but is it a surprise that Eli hit the deck? Weird that it happened when other riders were on a similar pace as him and not when he was WFO.

He was in the fuckin zone.. things were going so good that he probably felt no need to back it down. Disaster can strike any of these guys at any time, take Weston's close call last week for example.

I feel bad for Eli, I bet he's searching for answers. I'm betting he felt 100% comfortable at that pace. I'm in awe of his riding this year and I hope he can keep it on 2 wheels. He looks like RC out there, on a whole other level.

On a slightly different note, before he shocked everyone with his pro debut win, did anyone think he had this kind of potential?

You should explore other interests outside of racing.

Its a discussion dude. Re-read my original post. When guys like Eli and James go out and win by huge margins, yeah its fun to watch, but it is NOT necessary - it is absolutely inevitable that they will crash. They will. And it robs the series.

In all fairness, seemed like Tomac made less mistakes all day than Dungey and Roczen. His one mistake just happened to bite him. He was riding well within his boundaries. Musquin is one of the smoothest riders out there and looked what happened to him.
