Just went to the dermatologist last week to get my moles checked out, I had 2 removed due to irregularities so hopefully the test results come back with good news. Its just my luck that my entire body is covered in these darn possibly cancer forming moles.

Yep, I've had several removed. Also have a father-in-law and a couple of friends that have had some removed. My advice, if it looks weird, go to a doctor. They keep growing. Something that could be removed today and leave a couple of stitches could be a couple dozen stitches in another year!

I'm fair-skinned, and usually go fairly often as well...been slacking as of late, but I do monitor them for changes. I will be paying my doctor a visit soon. All of the miles I've had removed have come back dysplastic. Like was said above, I'd rather have a couple stitches now than deal with it later on down the road.

I have had quite a few of those. The last one was on my collarbone where it looks like skin and bone but they somehow cut a golf ball chuck of meat out where I didn't think there was any. My daughter had a few cut out at 14 and she has tan skin like my wife. You have to stay on top of it and protect yourself. I spent my whole childhood burnt and my nose peeled every day of the year. I wear a face buff and long sleeves on charters these days. I still get burnt at the track all the time.

Great info in this thread. My dad has had so any cancer and pre-cancers remove lost count. He was a Florida Marine Patrol and was in the sun 5+ days a week for 25+ years. Both my brothers have had a few Basil cells removed and I have had one removed from my face. I always wear a floppy hat if I am out in the sun for very log these days. Hope everyone takes this seriously. Thanks Crush for bringing it up!

Glad some people are reminded!

The reason I posted is just tthat, to remind everyone. Sun is pretty bad down here but obviously it can happen anywhere.

My Ma got pretty upset on a facebook post and email because she felt like it's her fault but honestly, it's more common than people think and a good reason to post is to get people to check.

It's a 15 minute visit to a specialist. Do it.

Thanks Crush, Had some Basil Cell removed from the side of my fair skinned Minnesotan nose myself. Yearly checks since then, wife jumps my a@@ all the time to put sunscreen on. Now I have my Vital bros doing the same. Wink

I was a passenger in a friend car the other day and I could feel the rays on the tops of my legs just melting my skin through the window. I couldn't believe how powerful it was.

I've had a few visits to get rid of extra skin myself. It's too bad; my worst scar isn't from moto, it's from basal cell!

Lost several inches off the left side of my neck and face back in 02 due to a Squamous cell cancer, the doc gave me this stuff called Efudex it's a potent chemical peel, put it on any place you suspect at all, it gives you nice new skin after a couple weeks. Much better alternative to getting carved on! skin cancer can get gnarly.
