All the guys that did not make, or that barely made the night show are in the same boat.. Just chasing a dream, doesnt matter if you are male or female when you strap the helmet on. And I havent seen anyone say she shouldn't try? Most recognize its a great effort on her part that I've seen.

Cheering for someone to qualify just for the chance to qualify (for a main) is fine, but don't shit on people that don't pull for the same person

What does voting have to do with moto? Weak jab trying to call someone sexist.

Man we can make the smallest things into huge arguments on here! Don't confuse Vicky "not doing well" with her not being supported. Vicky herself in two interviews I've read said she's not doing as well as she hoped and it hasnt been what she's wanted so when you say it's "going well" for her are you now calling her a liar? It hasnt gone well. It hasn't been what she wanted it to be but that doesn't negate the huge accomplishment she has achieved on a dirt bike. Oh how I was I had her speed.

It is human nature to cheer for someone who is fighting huge odds. There has never been a woman in a SX night program. I would say people that compare her to any other rider out there are not very aware of the accomplishment she has made to make it this far. She is not just another rider trying to make a main. She is a girl, and she would be the first.

And when she does make it get ready for the media to take off with it, there will be bigger headlines for that than you will see for the race winner

At this point its just an awesome effort, no different than the women before her. Don't kid yourself. If she makes a show, thats a different story

How do people's thoughts affect her lap times? I don't care that she is a girl. She is just another rider out there and I will judge her as such. And in my mind, and if I were racing, not qualifying for the night show would be marked as a failure.

She races.

She races MX.

She races SX.

She gonna be the 1st female to qualify for a pro SX race.

If she keeps at it, I think she can succeed. I hope she does it.

How high up in results will she go? Who cares. I doubt any of us, at her age, would have done any better, except for maybe some ex pros lurking, but come on, why all the hate. Insecurity maybe.Whistling

Kenny your hearts probably in the right place, you just came in a little too hot. Generalizing all Vitards as "Chauvinistic pigs" and saying she's doing well after she herself has said she's not was a little too aggressive. Seriously, maybe I missed it but have people really openly displayed hostility towards her or hoped she wouldn't do well or are they just not as excited as you'd like them to be?

The problem with MX is there's no pretending that chicks are equal to men with affirmative action and political pressure like in the rest of society. You actually have to perform. Many guys are so sick of the fake society we live in that they are not rooting for her when they normally would. She's gotta prove herself fair and square with no help from the powers that be. She has a thread because she is a girl. I'm not saying she is a failure in life, she obviously is able to make a living riding dirtcycles. But in the sport of SX so far her attempts have ended in failure (i.e not qualifying). I would say so far my life as a whole has been pretty successful. I enjoy a happy relationship with my family, am able to support myself on my own at a young age, and am also able to afford hobbies that bring me happiness. However if my goal was to become a successful professional rider, and qualify for a night show, I would most certainly end in failure as well. But that's ok because I work for a living and can look forward to killing the local vet track on the weekends.

Let me add my .02$. I do not care if she is a girl or not, she only looked different from the other racers because she had long hair coming out of her helmet. When I saw her the first practice I was thinking that she in no way should be allowed on the track, the discussion turned to how did she get her pro license.

HOWEVER!!!!, by the second practice she was riding really well, doing a tricky kicker double with a roller in front of it and the triple after the 90 corner that had like no run that I could not believe the 250s were doing.

What it looked like to me is she took a little longer to figure out the track and by the time she did, she had not put those sections together and put in some good laps. She was not however, tripling the inside rythym section that almost all the night show riders were doing.

So, I wish her the best and I think she will most likely eventually make a night show, not so sure about a main, but you never know.
