I've been riding KX 250s since 08 and I agree it's very easy turning compared to the green machine.

Not sure if it's the same or not my dealer said no I asked them to double check and pulled up the computer on the engine and it showed a long type filter. I bought it and when I went to install it after pulling the old one out, the one they sold me does not fit.
Hey I got a 2015 250sxf oil filter and it fits the 15.5 FE 250. No problems yet... The part number from the one in the bike and the 15 part number on has the last number changed from a 0 to a 1.

From what I can tell from the owners manual, It's always on (on start up) when either the soft or aggressive map is selected.
Read pg 12(450) of your manual on how it deactivates.

That information is not correct. There is a procedure described later in the manual that explains how to activate it. I don't remember the page. When it's activated, the FI light will be flashing.

N-Style and Decal Works have them. My plastic is at 139 Designs in VT right now and he's probably already done with making the templates for the entire bike and unlike what I'm hearing about some guys seeing the stuff underneath showing through their new number plates this will definitely not happen if you go with 139 Designs. You should be able to order from him today. I'll call him right now and find out. He's definitely the best I've worked with. He's fast and his stuff is top quality and his prices are great.

Not sure if it's the same or not my dealer said no I asked them to double check and pulled up the computer on the engine and it showed a long type filter. I bought it and when I went to install it after pulling the old one out, the one they sold me does not fit.
I am showing a 77338005100 for both the 250 and 450. That is the long filter.

I would've bought new plastic BUT it's all on backorder already which definitely blows so I'm going right over the stock stuff. Please tell Chris that I sent you. You definitely will not be disappointed with his stuff. Thanks, Mike

Hey my parts dealer said you can only order aftermarket exhaust from the dealer you bought the bike from for 1 year from date of purchase. What the hell? Have you guys heard of this?

Not entirely true. The FMF KTM exhaust comes from KTM Powerparts for the first six months or so before FMF will be able to sell direct. So depending on if your parts dealer is a KTM dealer, he may or may not have been telling a half truth.

It doesn't have to be the dealer the bike was purchased at. It does have to be a KTM dealer though...at least until sometime this fall.

Call your KTM dealer. They're on backorder until mid-April though. Akrapovic doesn't have the FE pipes listed yet as far as I know.

$499 for muffler and $499 for the header. That's the carbon/ti.

What kind of battery charger does everyone recommend ? Never had a KTM before so not sure what is best..I know I need a special one because it is a lithium battery

Beautiful bikes. Question though.

Why are they selling bikes with no parts availability? Say you picked up your new ride last weekend and cartwheeled it down the track, trashing the plastic, muffler and subframe. Now what, you can't get parts to fix your bike until May? Kinda worrisome.

I'd be riding that bike very carefully until replacement parts become available.

Your theory has been refuted and disproven countless times over the years. While I can appreciate your freedom to form your own opinion, it is common knowledge that Rotella does an excellent job at lubricting these motors and is recommended by quite a few engine builders, aftermarket manufacturers and countless end users.

I did a complete tear down of my RMZ450 at 55 hours and the inside of the motor was absolutely spotless. It looked so good that I was kicking myself for tearing it all down needlessly. I have used Rotella since hour 3.

Fair enough. I just don't understand why any other motor oils exist if RotellaT is the universal lubricant to the combustion engine. I don't want to highjack this thread. My point is I don't feel comfortable running diesel oil in a modern performance motor.

Ive used rotella in every bike ive owned, especially 4 strokes.Never had a problem do to oil. I change my oil every other ride no matter what, I had a 13 ktm450sxf and a 13.5 450 fe, before I sold it I had 200hrs on it never a problem!

Has anyone heard anything on the second shipment or have any of you that recently got your bikes on the second shipment. A lot of people got them last week I'm just curios if it's a late first shipment or the second. This wait is killing me. Lol thanks

Rode my bike 2 times. At the end of my second day. I pushed the starter button and nothing happend. No sign of a weak battery or anything. Took it into my dealer and they said the battery was bad. Ktm said no batteries till may, but... Ktm is coming through and shipping me a new one next week. Just an fyi, keep an eye on your batteries. But I will say this... This bike is hands down the best thing I have ridden. Been a kawi guy for a long time. First time I have ever seen an inside rut haha. Braapppp!

I am crossing my fingers every time I start my bike. It seems like the battery is dead at first then it gets going. I have no clue how to start this thing cold. Anyone know? I push the choke in and it seems to already be in, like no click. I can pull it out and it will click but that is supposed to be choke off so you wouldn't want to start it out right? Doesn't it just pop out automatically when the bike gets warm? (that is what I thought I saw happen the first time I rode it) I had a hard time getting it going last time I rode. It hasn't failed me yet but it has me worried. The manual is very vague on this, just says to push in the button for cold start and that is all, and the picture in the manual where they show the cold start button is not the same as where it actually is on the bike.

I want to get another battery to have on hand I don't trust these little suckers, I'm going to keep an extra charged batter on hand at all times. Mine came brand new with a dead battery and my local shop said they didn't have another one they were back ordered till may also. I went and found a charger mentioned on here and got it charged and it has stayed charged since.

Also I have no clue how to find the settings for the mapping in the airbox. The manual is so vague it makes no sense at all. Can anyone elaborate on it. How do you switch the settings? I can't even tell what it's set at. What is it supposed to come stock set at?

Sounds like a lot of complaining but I love the bike it's going to be awesome once I get it all dialed in. The feel of the chassis is so awesome I love it. I had a Kawi too and I agree on the turning part, night and day better.

The stock batteries are a little weak. Get a WPS lithium battery. I have ran them in my last 2 bikes and they are super light and always fire hard the first time, hot or cold.
The choke is supposed to release(pop out) by throttle movement. To test yours, push it in, then without starting bike, twist throttle. You should be able to hear it and see it pop out. They do not pop all the way out, only about 3/4s out. U can pull it out (turn off) by hand if u just want to leave bike idling when cold and not turn throttle

No one makes a battery that will fit the new trey.... Yet... All the ones I looked at (aftermarket) where all to big.
