Looks like Strijbos will miss the GP in Argentina this weekend and possibly the following GP in Italy as he has to have an operation for the tendinitis in his wrist.

Also, EMX250 rider David Herbreteau will fill in for Tixier this weekend

I've taken a look at the entry list for the Euro MX2, man that class is stacked!

Steven Clarke, Thomas Kjær Olsen, Magne Klingsheim, Brian Hsu, Davy Pootjes, Tomass Sileika, Maxime Desprey, Alvin Östlund, Damon Graulus, David Herbreteau, Nicolas Dercourt, Nick Kouwenberg, Adam Sterry,... All of them contenders for the title.

Feel sorry for Strijbos, but his run for a top classification is ruined.

Pulled a lap time off this video.
Not sure how accurate and it is just one random lap.
1:33 for both RV and JH.

You are right, my money is on Davy or Brian with Damon and Magne keeping them honest!

Maxime Desprey is one of the favorite I think. He is completly dominating in the France 250 championship.

Adam Sterry is in with a shout, he came within half a wheel of winning a moto at Lommel last year, and he is good on all surfaces, Desprey got to GP's and then couldnt cut it, maybe he got there too early.

MX2 is going to be a serious fight next year, excellent crop of riders moved up this year and with these mentioned testing the waters next year.

Yeah, i first saw him on a 150 Honda , and he had style back then , but having to come through with Nathan and Ben Watson means he is still a little under the radar , even now, but he is on a good team , and works hard at it, and has a style that suits bigger GP style tracks, i heard he rides a 450 real well too.

Its a shame Steven Clarke cant take it to MX2 , but rules is rules , i think his foray to the US didnt pay off how it needed to , and its tough to come back.

Ostland was real good towards the end of last season too, i think its too close to call.

Ye that's the first time I've watched him, he and Kristian Whatley looked really good out their this past weekend. Do you know if that Kristian will be racing any GPs this year?

I doubt it , Whatley hasnt shown much interest in GP's at all, i dont think Buildbase have any GP's planned , i cant remember if they even did Matterley last year.

At the beginning of the video, we can calculate some lap times because the guy capture 1 full lap (you can see Nalg and Herlings at the very beginning of the video and then they pass again at about 2 minutes)

Herlings was in 1:33/1:34 a lap, Nagl was in 1:32/1:33

So Nagl was little bit faster that lap.

and at minute 10 you can see RV's Pitboard: 1.34,1/1.34,1.., they were all pretty even, but the track was in good shape. Not really rough.
No one trains at 100% speed or for the most part even race speed. You learn way more running laps at 90% or less and keeping them within a couple of tenths.

Keep momentum in the corners,go bump 2 bump when rough, let the power of the bike do the work to save MUCH energy, dont hold the bars to tight in the hands or you get armpump in about 2 laps, work with the legs.
I ride these tracks a lot and do nothing of the above so i suck

Keep standing on the pegs and keep the front end light by staying on the back of the bike.

Took the words out of mouth RE keeping the front end light and standing up. In Ohio in the early 70s Phil Alderton and I (along with a bunch of other Husky mounted teeenagers practiced a lot in a gravel pit and I honed my sand skills. Really helped when I moved to CA and knew how to ride the mud and sand. CA boys are fish out of water in the mud since most of them stay home when it rains.
