Do we need to post the video of Herlings first time on a SX track and compare?

When Herlings or Cairoli man up and come over to race in the US we can compare too... Maybe they'll win a AMA national or SX race on their second attempt too like RV with the GPs Smile .

You're an idiot.

I think the springs in his front forks are .49... needs to drop to a .48 and add a tooth to the rear sprocket.

RV is arguably the best rider on earth right now, I say arguably because it might be Dungey. RVs got months to figure out a new surface to race on, does anyone honestly believe he won't be up to at least podium speed by then?

The problem for Ryan is that the track at Lommel only get really rough when there is a race on it. During practice it never gets that rough but at the end of the day he should get some indication (but not the real deal).

Seriously, how can you tell he is a few seconds slower on a 10 second video clip with no one to compare him to? Are you saying he is a couple of seconds slower a lap (not bad) or a few seconds slower through that section? Really really really bad.

No one ever gets destroyed by all them wood stakes and rope?
3/19/2015 6:49pm
guys quit it already, its getting old ...
Looks like he has a bit of work to do
"Bit of work" is a understatement. Pretty sad and the track wasn't even a monster yet. He's getting sucked down and not attacking and flowing on top like a experienced sand rider. lotta practice needed there.

You sound like a professional maybe you should charge for knowing what's going on and what someone needs to be doing in a 2min,random video edit!

You are absolutely right.
3/19/2015 9:36pm
RV can work on riding in the sand while the other GP riders work on going faster. .

It could be a 1 min vid but it doesn't change the fact that through that section he was not comfortable or competitive. Anyone familiar with Lommel will attest to that obvious observation.Could of been a lot of reasons for the lackluster performance through that section but that's what is on that clip.

The Europeans live near and train all year around at the Lommel circuit, so it was expected that Team USA would run into difficulties retaining the Chamberlain Trophy, but not many people expected their speed to be that inferior on the soft stuff. When you look at the times below, you will definitely scratch your heads wondering how any mortal could consistently go 5+ seconds a lap faster than our boys Ryan Dungey, Blake Baggett and Justin Barcia. It was incredible to watch the best sand riders in the world make it look easy, but being a proud American, I must admit it hurt.

In our lap time comparison graphs, we usually only show the top five finishers from each moto, but since Team USA only had one top five finish, we included them at the bottom of each moto’s chart.

RV will turn a lot of heads at Lommel. All you Euro's want to compair the MXoN race at Lommel to how RV will do. There is a huge difference between riders showing up a week before a race and what RV is doing over there this year. I will say it again beeting Carioli at Lommel is probably out of the question but a podium is well within RV's reach.

What I find ridiculous is that you ASSUME to know exactly all of the circumstances surrounding what was shown on the video. If you were there in person and directly at his pits it may lend some credibility to some of your comments, but you were not so how do you know anything regarding comfort, competitiveness or bike action/reaction?!

How do you think being familiar with Lommel gives your assumptions/observations any credibility on this 2min vid of a test/practice session you know nothing about?! Lackluster is all your comments you make like you know what the hell is going on!

He looks pretty good to me.
Give him some more time. His technique has Sand written all over it.

I think you completely missed the point of this post mate. Fat Fingers has a picture of Ben Townley taking out Andrew Short at the Colorado MXDN, and DPR was just reminding him of who won that day.

Leaving aside all the banter, he's definitely looking much better than Dungey, Barcia or Bagget did...
He's standing all the time on the pegs, probably watched a lot of Cairoli and Herlings movies...

Yeah righto. So how do you ride sand? Heels on the pegs? All your weight over the front? Sitting down 99% of the time? Yeah he may not have that flow which Ac and Jh have but his technique is still pretty good for sand.

Hoping RV can hold his own at lommel, top 3 would be a good result and should be good enough if the rest of the season goes his way.

Cool video of Jeffrey Herlings showing how it's done for anyone that hasn't seen it.
