Consider it done Mr Day. I will get on it in the morning when my mind is fresh. And after I email him , I will post my message that I sent here , so that anyone and everyone can copy / paste my email to him as well if the need / want to. For tonight....my mind is a blur and I am just cruising the moto threads. We'll keep poking the bear man!

Did someone say this kid is sponsored by Monster?

Calling customer service will net nothing, they maybe have the clout to offer you a free case of monster shipped to your home, beyond that they are probably there to appease you.So, the person who owns the bike needs to go buy a share of monster stock, then call investor relations let them know you are an owner and customer, and ask to speak with the CEO. Of course you wont get through but you will get someone with authority. You tell them you have proof they are sponsoring a specific thief with your money and you have video proof, and what's more you are the one he stole from. That the monster sponsorship money is enabling him to do this to more people and it's a bad association for the company and what they plan to do about it? If nothing, then let them know you plan on attending the annual shareholders meeting and when they open the floor to questions you plan on asking the why they are sponsoring known thieves with your $$$s, and are going to ask them how this is good for the company. they really don't want that type of distraction at the annual shareholders meeting, likely something will be done. what I don't know what but for sure more than calling customer service. Make sure to ask for a follow up call as to what was done.
As for the non public traded companies. If there were enough people to participate (I wont do this on my own but would participate)
the post office has "if it fits it ships" boxes for under $6, about the size of a video cassette if you remember those. Load it with dog shit and we send them to the other big sponsor. When they get enough shit (literally) couple hundred boxes? They will do something also.
Just thinking out loud here,
TM

On the odd occasion I'm selling a dirt bike, the LAST thing I want is some "pretender" coming to my shop, scoping out EVERYTHING I own. Takes a 5 min ride on my bike, politely declines to buy, and walks. While he's there, he sees the other 4 bikes I have in my shop, my 71 Challenger, the 10G worth of tools I have, etc:. I come back 3 weeks later, my shop door has had a pickup driven through it, and half of my shit is missing. Can't think of any valid reason to attract potential thieves to my place, I'd rather load the bike and take it to a track, and let them try it there. A place with lots of people around, and some who know me, and my bike. Your results may differ, but I'm going to side with Mr. Day on this one. P, sometimes, your comments just leave me speechless.

Another thought used to be, don't let a buyer come to your house. They would check the place out and then come back later and steal the bike.

Any time I've sold anything....I had the person meet me at the sheriff department's office. Tends to cut out any chance of bullshit.

I even bought a hand gun from somebody off of facebook. I told them that I wanted to meet there...he kind of stuttered around and asked why. I said "well, I have nothing to hide. Buying and selling firearms is not against the law. This will protect both of us.". He agreed and we met. Turns out, he was a really nice guy. When I asked him to meet there, he thought he might have been doing something wrong and it was a 'sting'. lol

My friend tried that method because of what happened to me. He got scammed too. They payed for the bike with counterfeit money, when he tried to deposit the money in the bank the money was confiscated. So the Scum just come up with new ways to steal things anyway.. Just think if they put that much effort into actually working, maybe they would make money and not have to steal honest people's stuff.
So it is really hard these days to protect yourself. I would never try and sell anything again, just to much scum out there. Sad that honest people have to deal with it.

haha, that's pretty funny. I gotta admit, though, you must be more brave than me because I doubt I would ever meet up to buy a gun from someone I've never met, regardless of the location.

I actually have a buddy that got a counterfeit $20 in change when we were in college (he didn't know it was counterfeit) and used it to pay a parking ticket at the campus police station. They arrested him, took him in for questioning, all that mess. He had to get a lawyer and go to court. It was a huge mess. I just kept thinking, do you really think someone would try to pay the police with counterfeit money?

My mom had a garage sale and one of the more fine customers asked to pay with a $100 bill. Turns out it was fake and he only bought something worth $5 so she gave him $95 in real money and he got the item as well. Ridiculous.

Man, I came to this thread a few days ago to ask about boots. As in, does Alpinestars really sponsor this guy? I really stirred the pot. Sorry.

What are you apologizing for? You asked a simple question, and some people chose to push the envelope. You have ZERO to feel bad about. Maybe if the guy who got clipped had a better approach on things, he might still be here. As you were, like nothing happened.

My sorry was meant tounge in cheek. As in, I poked a few hornets. I agree with 99% of you. The 1% I didn't? Well, I think he just got booted. Good to see that stupidity has it's limits. Mr Day, so sorry about the stolen bike. Scum of the earth thieves are. Sad that these idiots are encouraged and applauded every year at the Baja Brawl. The best we can do is avoid those that support them. I will do my best to get more emails to his sponsors.

Thank everyone for there support and getting the word out. It is important to get the word out on these schemes so other people do not get ripped off. Who knows, one days these Sponsors may be paying the price in court... Hum... I just wonder...

I dunno if Deft is a sponsor, but if they are, I don't want to be part of the Deft Family. I have a whole bunch of their gloves, love them but I'll never buy another pair if so. I'm clearly not part of their target demographic if they are supporting this nonsense.

. You all sound like a bunch of haters to me maybe you just want to be in lil Chino shoes. Instead of hating on someone why don't you try to go out and get your own sponsorship so you can become successful instead of a punk ass hater. Get a life!!!
