Have you guys seen the Houston track?

Gotta hand it to them. If I'm reading this correctly, it's certainly unique. From the looks of things, the race starts counter-clockwise and changes direction halfway through lap one and then comes back around clockwise.

Just bought tickets. Gonna go with my dad and take my almost 3 year old son to his first SX race. Should be lots of fun.

Going to say it first, "they made the track for Dungey to win on."

Looks like the track has been revised if that is the most up-to-date map.

Seeing the riders hit a rhythm section two directions is pretty cool. It probably won't amount to much, but I welcome the unique approach.

I think St. Louis is similar.

I'm curious how they are going to work it out in practice. Is there going to be a separate practice to get the first rhythm down? Obviously they are not going to race without anyone practicing going backwards in that first rhythm.

Ok thanks for clarifying that. Still pretty unique.

Alan, I see your point. The first lap of the race would be very sketchy if they didn't get to practice that first rhythm in the CC direction. Plus, you can't really practice any starts during practice.

Still, I welcome the change. It'll make it more interesting. And by that point in the series that may be what we have to settle for if RD is running away with it.

I asked a question about this track back in December in another thread and this is what I had to put up with...

Nicknku wrote: Something goofy is going on with Houston too that wasn't addressed. Anybody figure out how the over under is working there?

iBobbyb wrote: since you apparently have the iq of a 2 year old, let me help you out here. gate drops, go down the start straight. turn left. go through the rhythm section. 90 degree left turn, go under, turn right, go over jump, turn right, go over the tunnel. and if you cant follow the track from there, then theres just no hope for you. the riders will only go under the under over off of the start.
