Not sure I agree completely with the "no real chance to get accustomed to it" deal, especially with the smaller, generally supported gates like we are seeing for "fly away " races. RV moved over 3000 miles from his original home to train in heat and humidity, I'm pretty sure the GP regulars could mostly find some hot and humid training grounds around 3000 miles away........
yeah I guess but I'm assuming he did that cause every US round is extremely hot.. GP's really only have one extreme round
how much time and effort are you going to put into one round?
Also like I said the really good guys didn't seem to struggle too bad and could prob get through the 'hot round' like last year. Although the MX2 guys did, didn't they? maybe cause they're younger and don't know their bodies or haven't trained as long I'm not smart enough to know the answer to that one

You have to admit, there was a certain irony that the superior World Championship GP racers, who just last week were touted as being physically "fitter" than their AMA counterparts, needed to have their races shortened, due to their physical conditioning, the very next week!

Beyond that, the right call was made.

who touted them as being fitter? I read that on here.. Not sure that's a good source, and since fucken when have the GP riders been touted as superior haha..
Also I don't know how much it's got to do with physical conditioning I'd say Tomac was pretty fit that year

I'll be honest I'm not really sure what you're saying I'm naive about, also I'm not 100% whether you're making a joke at me or with me so I'll just sit here smiling awkwardly... I dunno if there's an emoticon for that

I've seen that wink before, he's flirting with you. I get it all the time from guys on here, it's a little weird for a motocross forum but... whatever I'm a liberal thinker, it's cool with me.

I don't think it's truly a matter of physics conditioning. More a matter of acclimation. If you took a world class XC ski racer who could ski all day in the winter and flew him to the opposite hemisphere to "skate" in high heat and humidity, they'd likely struggle. Not because of fitness level, but because of acclimation.

Hahahaha. Here are two pics I took going to River Valley MX and Village Creek last summer. Average summer day for us in Texas is usually 102ish with humidity in the high 80% low 90% range. Come on over and hang with the U.S. guys. Lmfao. I always thought of the GP's as the tough guys on the tough tracks. For like 35 years I've thought that and people always laughed at me. That opinion has changed completely. That track was terrible. Hell I thought it was Shady Grove MX for a minute. (For those of you in the DFW area). Temps only around 100 and fit riders were suffering???? Thai GP. Laughable. (The track and decisions. The riders are badass mf'rs. Nothing but respect for all the guys out there)

Damn, you are one gnarly heat soldier! Props to you!!! When did you last visit Thailand and do a 30 min plus 2 on a track that you need 100% concerntration?

F1 Drivers lose almost 9lbs of body weight when they compete in the night in Singapore. Most of the GP2 and support racers need special conditioning to last the race, and they can consume fluids during the race, and they are not exactly fat and lazy...

There were a bunch of guys who passed out from heat exhaustion first moto, Tixier even smashed two people in the face because of it. You really think the organisers want that on their heads.

I think they learned from Lichtle...

Seems like a huge misstep to me, but what do I know!?
The sugars in a coke are actualy "faster". Allthough the stuff is garbage usualy after a brutal excersise its quite usefull. Helps with stommach issues aswell.

Is Germany and Thailand now the same place ?!

Climates are a bit different.

How many florida nationals do they hold in the summer ? 0. How many amatuer race series in Florida are in mostly in the summer? Don't the summer racing series come to an end abouts June?
