I was/am there, RV's start in moto 1 was awesome then he was never challenged. Looked the most aggressive rider on the track. Great ride and deserved the win. Second moto kind of settled in.

This round was all set up perfect for RV IMO. Brand new track for everyone, almost SX/Daytona style in brutal heat. Glad he did well here to keep up the American interest in the series but I still believe when this gets into deepest darkest Europe AC will own.

Well done RV though, was a pleasure to watch you today. Total respect.

Still think it's Cairoli's title to lose.

He looked slightly off the pace all weekend, then bam, he just comes out and blitzes the second moto. The fact he can pull that kind of ride out of the hat when he needs to is what will make him so difficult to beat. Especially when the series gets back to Europe.

Very impressive weekend for Villopoto as well, who was head and shoulders above everybody until the 2nd moto, and has clearly made progress from Qatar, even though only a week has passed. He'll certainly be in the mix over the coming months.

And I suppose I can't not mention Desalle - two second places is good, and also the kind of consistency that helps keep you in a Championship hunt.

Absolutely gutted for Tommy Searle though. Just like last year when he had a huge crash in Thailand, it looks like his season could be over before it ever really started. Hopefully he's not hurt too badly, and if it is just concussion and damaged ribs, he could recover fairly quickly (depending on if the ribs are broken or just bruised).

But an interesting weekend of racing overall, and it's just a shame we have to wait 3 weeks of the next round.

Both waters and ferris led championships for the majority of the season. But injuries prevented them from winning them. Id rather see riders back themselves and race overseas like they did then ride here in australia.
