This^^^^^ TC is the only rider that I see that has RV speed without riding crazy and wadding IMO. I'm not sure myself if Tony is ready for RV's intensity. That short red head is tuff as nails and hates to lose no matter what........and he's talented enough to really hang it out if needed and then bring it back. I hope its good racing but I think the euro's are in for a jaw dropping show , especially if RV gets a start. Oh my.....Wink

It's gonna take him a few rounds to get warned up to racing again. People are so quick to panic. If he's still qualifying 8th by round 5 & 6 I will hit the panic button also lol

Racing is tomorrow, any of 8 could win and Villo definatly could but he is running the same time as Aussie Todd and Todd has never won a tittle in Australia. Also Paulin smoked MXoN but that was against Dungey and Tomac but i guess there fast. Its a knew season, its racing and the sport is very close the world over, just ask Roczen and Musquin

If you take note of the lap analysis in the statistics pulldown section, RV didn't have one single lap faster than the 7 riders in front of him during the entire race except lap 10 when when he threw down a 1:52.902. That is a very good reason to finish 8th, But tomorrow is a new day and let's hope it's a good race day and the last time we have to visit Qatar.

And by comparing those "Stats" ( that means looking at a lap or section time one rider had and move across the column and look at another rider's lap or section time for that same section or lap and that is comparing) it is a documented fact that yes, today Mr Captain America was slower every lap than the 7 riders who finished in front of him except lap 10 where he turned in a competitive lap comparable with the 7 riders who finished ahead of him. I can tell you one thing. You can take that lap analysis and shove it up your ass. RV is RV in America or Europe. We`ve seen this before, he`s done this before.

So do they pay $ for qualifying? Do they get trophies for qualifying? Do they get points for qualifying? Does qualifying count toward their finishing position? Does qualifying count toward the championship? I'm gonna make the call and say NOT NADA NINE hahahahahahahahaha

It's fascinating to see how much confidence some people suddenly gained based on qualifying, and how others for some reason lost it. I believe Cairoli "just" got the pole position in 6 out of the 17 rounds last year, in Qatar he was 7th. Somehow he still won the championship, go figure.

I'm not saying that the qualifiers show nothing, or that they lack importance at all, but they are just qualifiers... It's usually just a selected few who are really feeling it who'll go balls to the walls in a qualifier at any given GP. At least that is the impression I have been given.

I for one root for Villopoto (despite being a filthy euro). Out of RC, Everts, Cairoli, Stewart and him, he is the only one to bring it to the "other series" (in his prime). Yeah Everts showed up for a couple of one-offs early in his career but that doesn't count I think.

Villopoto fell on the first lap of a 20 min qualifying race. And if you think any of these riders stand a chance besides Cairoli then you obviously haven't watched what's been going on for the last decade. Villopoto and Cairoli are the best in the world. Desalle came to the US in 2013 and couldn't hang with Villopoto whatsoever. He's a championship contender over there but could barely get top 5. what'd he go 7-7 for 5th. Lets look at the results after a couple of rounds. And btw these riders couldn't dream of running with him in supercross. Cairoli would be lucky to break the top 5 with a full off season of testing. Who's the better dirt bike rider? Villopoto

I dunno yall, MAYBE its possible that since its only qualifying for the first GP of the year, Poto wasnt going all out. It would be pretty short sighted of him to get hurt on literally the first day of racing afer all this time, money, and effort has went into getting him over there.

Dude.....it's ignorant American fans like you that give the rest of us a bad name. CD25 came over here twice in 2013 and took two 6th place O/A's. In 2010 he took a 2nd behind Dungey at Unadilla........Desalle is no joke!

Today's qualifying did not end up going the way most us American's had hoped......but it's racing , and shit happens. No use throwing a hissy-fit over Geezuuzzz!

And RV and AC222 aint running SX right now in case you haven't noticed. In outdoors.....you would be a fool to downplay AC because the guy is a badass....plain and simple!

I think RV's issues are multiple. Not racing for 10 months , never seen this track , does NOT know what it's like riding with these guys , bike setup......could be a bunch of things.

But to sum it all up.....after he gets his nerves in check.....it's all on him to correct everything else. He got beat today.....no easy way around it.

I think you're right. It's a combination of a few things. Plus, RV has never been known as a good test rider for setting his bike up. Lets all hope RV leaves in one piece. I think if he can stay healthy, and stay in his comfort zone for now, then he will start showing his old self again in no time. Even if it means taking anything in the top 10. Dammit, I can't wait for the racing to start today!!!
