I'm disappointed in the CRFs lack of evolution, and as a consequence I'm thinking of changing brand. Any impressions?

The CRF was a great bike last year, the 09 should good enough to hang with the current crop. Just wait till 2010 the CRF250 will likely get the the same treatment as the 09 450.

I rode the KXF250 this weekend and really liked it. It was completely stock with the exception of the suspension (promotion). 1st time I rode a 250 in 2 1/2 year so it seemed under powered but as long as I shifted a lot it ran very well.

Shifting seemed very smooth. Mid ranged seemed a little short but it would rev to the moon on the top. Then again I'am used to riding a 450 and don't have any other '09 250s to compare it to.

The Husqvarna has one of the smallest most compact engines ive ever seen. Could be a viable choice this year

Lack of evolution? They put a completely new cylinder head on it, and it was a killer bike last year. Yami is BNG, and I've never liked the suzukis. I'd say stick with the red or maybe buy a kawi.

I got my 09 CRF250 last friday and rode it all weekend. Hits harder off the bottom than last year and seems to pull harder through every gear. Def more power than last year. Jetting is rich outa the box, but im at 4000 feet so it needs to be fine tuned. Brakes, controls, suspension all improved over last year...RIDE RED

Cool! I would like to try the KXF, but I have some bad experience with the Kawasakis quality. Did some searching and ended up with this:

"Kawasaki KXF 2004-07 & Suzuki RMZ250 2004-07:

This has to be the most unreliable dirt bike ever built."

http://www.eric-gorr.com/mxenginerebuilding.html

This Gorr dude has a god rep, knows better than a majority I assume. You think the 09 has gone threw a major revolution engine-wise?

YZF seems reliable, but handling is a weak point.

I know Eric personally and I can't speak for him but I'm thinking those year ranges should be Kawasaki KXF 2004-2005 & Suzuki RMZ250 2004-2006. That was the shared bike between Suzuki and Kawasaki and it was riddled with issues.

My son had an 07 RMZ250 and it was solid other than a clutch issue that Suzuki fixed part way through 2007.

He has an 09 KX250F now and I put 5 hours on it a week ago because my 450 hasn't arrived yet. The only thing I can compare it to is his 07 RMZ250 and my 02 RM250 and I really enjoyed the bike, plenty of power but not quite the thrill factor of a 250 2 stroke but much easier to go fast on and ride longer. Bike handled well but I did not ride it with stock suspension as it had already been modified by Jeremy Wilkey at MX-Tech.

The Husky has EFI....

I'd love to see a legitimate 6-bike 250F shootout. Be very interested to see how the euro bikes do....

I've been racing Kawasaki's all of my life on dirt and street and I have never had any quality issues what so ever. I do take care of my equipment though. Look how many DNF's the other teams had this year and a few years back and now look who didn't. Kawasaki riders have dominated everything and I would have to say there isn't any other rider harder on a machine than a Kawasaki rider and they always produce champions. You can't be a champion if your bike won't cross the finish line. I had my 06 250f done by Pro Circuit and it was by far the most incredible machine I had ever thrown a leg over. Well, just look at RV's domination of the MXdN two years in a row against 450's and that should tell you all you need to know.

Go Green. You won't regret it. Sign up for the contingency program too because the have the biggest payback and the best support.
