I've listened to his commentating, Pilotdude is right, he is VERY biased and pro GP. Knocked the US riders whenever the opportunity arises..sorry it's true. I honestly wish they would replace him, listening to him is like watching paint dry.

I can't stand Malin honestly. I think he's anti American and a just loves throwing in the un-professional jabs here and there. The under-tone of his broadcasting is about as clear as water. Of course a lot of the guys on the other side of the pond don't see it.......imagine that.

But....it is what it is. Can't wait to hear his tone when RV is out front layin' waste......should be interesting.
He will just say "Cairolli is a little off today." no giving credit to RV.

It's a good job for so many of you that it's quite possibly the best rider the US has ever produced that's coming to race the GPs
Best rider the US has ever produced? Crazy shit, but he's far from teh best. The best are the guys who repeated destroyed you for 13 years straight in the MXdN.

You've finally caught up to the gauntlet that got dropped in 1981. congratufuckinglations and welcome to the cool kids table. Don't get too comfy thought, the bar is about to be raised another notch on Feb 28th. Not that the actual country of Great Britain is ever a factor in...well....anything motocross related. But you know, since you all like to cheerlead for Europe as a whole.

I'd have so much more respect for the Redcoat Mafia if any of you had the balls to actually just admit you hate "the colonies" and everyone in them. Can I take a wild guess at how many of you will be joining us in Glen Helen for RV's victory lap?

By the way... you guys should all really love Jeff Emig. It was him having the worst ride of his life that allowed your boy Malin to get his fluke 1994 victory. Prior to that you guys had some good runs on the single cylinder 500 fourstroke BSAs shortly after World War 2. Good stuff.

Am I biased? My adjectives are, but the rest is factual, again, whether you want to admit it or not is up to you.

A grand prix commentator being pro GP? He should be sacked immediately

Wink

Bingo!! He's in a no win situation, the camera work is poor at best because of the few camera's they do have are placed to far away just so they can get the shot which makes it difficult for any announcer. It's also hard for him to follow the action when the video feed is of some guy a lap down running half speed for an entire lap, so much so that a few times last year you could hear his frustration and he actually made comments about it.

I stay out of most euro threads, check your facts. But now with RV we can have lots of fun! Woohoo

What defines a 'euro thread' ?
When you scroll down and see a bunch of people with "GBR" under their screen name defending the GPs like their lives depend on it.

Hey, what race will you be staying up until 3am to watch on a little computer feed? I was just curious.
2/20/2015 5:08pm
Actually it's mild, no real wind, no rain for some time.

Btw I haven't stayed up late once, I don't need to.

In case you haven't figured it out the U.S broadcasters have decided they want the world to support their product by putting it on immediate archive. Strange.

What did mommy make for your supper tonight junior?

In PM's defense, it's not like Emig doesn't promote the AMA series... at least every broadcast we hear how "these are the fastest riders in the world" and on and on.

Thanks to all for underlining the fact that the USA is too stupid to survive for long. Keep waving that Flag chumps.

HEY......I just wanted to jump back in here real quick and say something. I in no way , shape or form have anything against the guys on here from GBR. I don't care for Malin's broadcasting skills , but that has no effect on my feelings towards the members on here. There are other dudes here as well , but I'll use Jamma as an example......That guy has been a breath of fresh air in many , many threads over the years , and I for one appreciate his non-biased approach in a lot of these debates. I consider him a brother from another mother so to speak.

Wow, I thought this thread was going to be about Paul Malin's take on the GPs/RV.

Holy shit.

Imagine that, just cos a guy isn't full of praise for America, he gets branded as a hater of the country. I know how he feels. I personally can't remember him ever hating on America, or anyone for that matter. He has to call it as he sees it. If Team USA are under performing then as a commentator it's his job to say so. Doesn't mean he hates America or he won't be excited that Villopoto is riding GP's. You guys make it sound like he's going to be chanting Cairoli's name in the booth. Utter rubbish

You just summed up part of the reason why some American's don't like him. Malin will go out of his way to say American riders are under performing......but you will NOT hear him say that about other countries ( using MXoN's races as an example ). He does in fact take jabs at American riders. This past year he kept it pretty tame and didn't say shit with Emig in the booth. Which BTW was the best thing they ever did for that broadcast.
You don't think the Americans underperformed? Because it seems to me that most Americans on this board would readily agree that in the last 3 MXoNs, they did just that.

Notwithstanding I can only apologise on behalf of the entire United Kingdom for Paul Malin agreeing with them.

Of course they underperformed, he just points to the USA underperformance a lot more than the other teams. You know, like he enjoys pointing the US out more so than with other teams. Anyway, I don't give a shit, I'm just looking from the outside in.
