I don't understand why you guys care so much. If she makes the night show, that's an awesome accomplishment for her and worthy of praise. If she is the slowest qualifier by 3 seconds a lap, oh well, she went for it and it didn't work out. This doesn't seem like something that should piss people off.

I think what it does prove is that the "Road to Supercross" is a total flawed process, that is a joke. She in my opinion is not ready for Supercross at that level. She never made one Main event in Arenacross, but yet she is ready to for Supercross, via the "RC Road to Supercross".

I think Arenacross was starting to die a little bit, so they came up with this gimmick to get more riders at the events and try to put some flare into them.

I'm not upset that's she's there at all. I frankly think it's a diservice to see the women race after seeing the raw speed of the boys. On their own they are fast but not fast enough that people are going to pay to watch. I am just stating my opinion that she won't make the night show & I think these women are over hyped then it falls flat on their face. Anyone remember all the late night shows making fun of the girls after the first Xgames Endurocross? They were ruthlessly making fun of them.

I have ridden the same track, at the same time as Vicki. She goes very well and has great style doing it. Is she fast enough to make the main? No one will know till they watch it. Having flagged some SX events, the guys that make the show are remarkable. The tracks are very tough and even they struggle at times. Hoping she makes the show but it will be a feat as 95% of those there are very talented riders.

If the whoops at Dallas are as big on race day as they were on press day, I'll be surprised if she makes the night show. Mostly because unless she's improved on her whoop blitzing skills since AX, she's going to struggle with those bad boys.

This is cool and all but she'd win a lot more hearts by showing up on her 125. She wrings that things neck with the best of them and she's not going to get very far anyhow, so why not make fans in the 2-stroke mafia?

There were guys last week in the 250 west qualifying that were a full 18 seconds A LAP SLOWER then Bowers Pole fast time
of the night.
I hope she does better then that....go Vicki....
Bowers pole time last week was 56.667 ... slow time of the night was 18.711 seconds slower @ 115.376
The 40th fastest qualifier was 8.190 seconds a lap slower then Bowers
Does anybody think she can run within 10 seconds a lap of the fastest time in Dallas?...

Meghan has been racing pro sx in Aus for a few seasons, Jacko ran 10th in a few AMA sx west this year and ran 6th in the Aus series and Meg is jumping what he jumps.

As with anything else it starts out as wanting to be different. Then it turns into the cool thing to do. Seems to me being different is not maiming your body but that's just me. I personally can not stand tattoos but wtf do I know. The generation of today is going to look awfully silly at 60 plus years of age! Not to mention the possible long term affects of covering your bodies largest organ (skin for those of you who tried the pro mx route) in ink. Tattoos have been around for a long time but just recently has it become the norm to be completely sleeved up, etc. sheople i tell you. But I digress...

Good for you. I just think being covered in tats is a foolish look. My opinion. My opinion is that most do it because it is the cool thing to do.

Agreed.

I think people that have smaller tattoos are fine but when people start doing sleeves and such i automatically think different of them. Not sure why, i guess im just negative lol. Do what makes you happy i guess....

I just hope it doesn't turn out like that first women's XGames endurocross. There is a lot of fast dudes that won't make the night show no shame if she doesn't either. Good for her for trying.

Watched Meghan at an outdoor race a couple of seasons ago. She was impressive!

It'll be tough to make the night program.

My honest opinion is that men and women are created different for a reason. I am raised old school and am not one of these equal rights women can do everything men can yahoos. We are built differently. Fact is that we can't do what they can in certain aspects and vice versa. SX is no joke and I just hope she doesn't end her riding career trying to prove she can do this. She's fast as hell for a girl. She's not top 40 material IMO, and there's no shame in that. I guess we'll know soon enough.

I hope Hannah hodges really develops and proves your statement wrong. Although your honest opinion is closer to fact as it sits now. Until a girl can prove she's capable of doing it. Humans are awesome, anythings possible.

i thought a few years ago Courtney Duncan might have been able to qualify for a main for a SX night show, but she has not really kept getting faster after a few big crashes,

Good luck to Vicky, she earnt her chance to be there like everyone else now has to,

2014 WMX Final Standings
1. Marissa Markelon (270)
2. Kylie Fasnacht (259)
3. Mackenzie Tricker (258)
4. Shelby Rolen (186)
5. Amber Felicio (166)
6. Amanda Brown (160)
7. Amanda Sokalski (118)
8. Gladys Limbaugh (110)
9. Christel Allen (78)

So why is she not even trying to race the WMX Races, or did she not finish in the top 9?

That list appears to be the finals at Loretta last year not the WMX series standings. I'm almost positive that's Loretta finals from last year as one of those girls hit a tree in the final moto breaking a femur.

She would probably stand a better chance trying 4 or 5 races in. This being the first east coast race will probably have the highest entrants of any of them. Just makes it harder with more people there.

Doubt it. At one of the WMX rounds a few years back, the one where she spanked Jessica Patterson on a 125, if you took her fastest lap time of the day and used it as qualifying, she would have qualified 66th in the mens class.

She's going to disprove biology? Huh

Men and women are created differently and there's nothing wrong with that. Men are physically stronger and therefor usually perform in sports better but can skill and desire offset that in a sport like motocross? Thats the question I guess.

Too many people take what people say the wrong way. Too many people are overly sensitive about everything these days. It's the politics involved that I think get people upset the most. Someone like her gets more access to these press days, media coverage, sponsors, etc than somebody who may have more potential at finishing better at the event because she's a girl. I'm not saying I agree with getting upset about that but I think that's the way some people see it.

There's nothing wrong in stating that men are women are created different. The problem is most people follow that up with some weird logic that says men and women are 'meant' to do different things.

No one is 'meant' to do anything in their lives.

There are one legged bodybuilders, blind photographers, quadriplegic motocross riders,...

There are women in this world that warm up with the max squat of a motocross pro.

I'm not saying Vicki Golden is going to qualify (in fact I doubt it), I'm just saying there is absolutely no reason why a woman wouldn't be able to qualify for an SX show. Will it be harder? Of course it will, but I'm convinced it will happen.

I hope Vicki Golden does good out there, stays safe and blows the minds of many people by making the night show, you have to start somewhere and I would think that just qualifying is her goal at this point. Maybe she will get more girls to ride and understand the love for this sport and maybe there's a snowballs chance in hell I could meet one of those said women and finally date a girl that I have something in common with!! A guy can dream can't he lol!!

Has Tony Allessi's Instagram video been posted?

I know it was only like 10 seconds, but she's gonna need A LOT more speed than she was showing there to get in to the show.

I'm gonna have to make it a point to watch the sx live practice and qualifying show today. I assume she will be in the 250C group?

When I think of what she might look like in practice this afternoon, visions of that "Dont Stop The Swagger" guy come to mind.

My personal opinion...those whoops are gonna eat her up.
