That video quality was better than 99% of the world championship coverage.

Actually MX-life upgraded to HD a few years ago. Picture quality is awsome now. I actually like the broadcast, Malin is a nice well-spoken guy, and when they have Adam Wheeler in the booth I think it's awsome. Wheeler is a great guy. Wish he would start doing his podcast again.

He's looking pretty good, think he's still got work to do in the sand, but with nearly 3 months till there is any kind of sand, he's got plenty of time to do it.

The OP suggested that european riders dont test in public, i wasnt the only one who read it that way ... i have been lucky enough to share tracks with some great riders here in the UK , public and private .. the notion that people dont see or film the top guys here is just daft, and i called on it............ what will happen is that people will come out to see RV that wouldnt normally bother , i get that , thats understandable.

You only have to look at the drivel posted on Racer X to see where the average US MX fan is with their knowledge and respect , nobody in europe is expecting RV to come over and not be fast, we are expecting a great season anyway , even before this , and now to add this makes it so much more , the notion that your guy will come over and destroy everyone is typical of 90% of the folk on here , the other 10% are switched on enough to realise that euro riders are fast , and after 3 losses in 3 years , your guys arent the force they were , and our guys upped there game.

That is what makes this a great sport ..

If Jake Nichols beats RV , then i might flag wave...

That Alghero looks like a lot of fun to ride.

Seems the weather that the mild & dry team were probably chasing on Sardinia hasn't materialised though, it's supposed to rain all week. In two or three months time the island will look a bit more like this... hard to believe its the same place.

Ah here's me thinking the vast majority of these vids were posted by the RV team

There's no shame in not being as smooth as JH and AC, those 2 are by far and away the best sand riders in the world. He doesn't look all that impressive, but there's a long way to go and ultimately practice videos are hard to judge from and don't mean much. You certainly don't watch it with amazement though

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I know it's impossible to tell without other riders out there, but I'm not exactly blown away by those videos.

Hopefully I'm completely wrong and he kills it over there!

Man if RV looks that slow on that track I would not want to see a vid of me riding there! Guess I would be pushing my bike around it lol

Smile Mate you don't really help yourself with comments like 'He doesn't look all that impressive'!

The ground is heavy and saturated with water for a start, I'd be suprised if any half decent sand rider looked much better in the little clips we've seen so far.

It probably doesn't come across the way I wanted it to. What I mean is that you don't watch it and go 'wow'. I know that it rained all morning and conditions were difficult, and I did say that it's hard to tell and it doesn't mean much. Oh well, if I get shot down in flames again then so be it. I don't mean to cause offence to anyone really

Once the gate drops, RV is a different kind of person who doesn't know how to untwist his right wrist.

no matter if its rain , shine , or snow , you watch any Herlings sand video and the only thing you get is 'F&£K ME'...

That said , its only a test day.

I'm entitled to think that RV isn't some kind of super hero and that he can be beaten. I still think he's an amazing rider, and I'm super excited that he decided to take on the challenge to come over and race the GP's, but I just see him as a human the same as everyone else. There's no reason why he can't be beaten, that's my belief, we don't have to agree

Do you think that after watching this video of Cairoli on the same track though? I know I don't.

But like you say they're only practicing and the lines and the conditions are different. It wouldn't change who I put my money on at Lommel, but that's only one GP.

If you want to prove you're the best motocross rider in the world then you need to go and win the world championship, like RV is trying to do. Several people have said that RV doesn't give a shit about the national championships that he could ride in around Europe. Why should Cairoli give a shit about a national championship on the other side of the world?
