I think Paulin has a very good chance for multiple race wins and Russian Bobby for podiums. Over a series though I give the nod to RV because it seems that Paulin finds himself with a very bad race or two. I can't wait to watch it all unfold!

RV will validate how great all of the GP contenders really are.

It all depends on how far they are willing to hang it out... RV is like Godzilla at hanging it out to win, thus so many titles and wins. The man has the most ferocious determination out of anybody I have ever seen any time he lines up on that gate. Its just gonna be one of the best year's of watchin moto! I can't wait....

Imo,GP will have to have a perfect day, with some luck on his side, and rv having some bad luck. If Rv is clicking fit, prepared, no one in the world can beat him. Easily the fmotp, but alot stuff happens behind the gate, thats why they line up.

I would have to say AC still is the favorite. He will be staying in his same routine and bike.

RV is going to have to deal with an all new routine, new tracks, new riders, etc.

GP is plenty fast but he will be adjusting to a new bike.

BTW - what is the TV deal for the US? I'm on Direc TV and I think they came in last year ...

Paulin has an effortless style, he won first time out on a 450 at Franciacorta , and was on for a great second race but got landed on the first lap. He is my tip for the season.

RV isn't getting paid and training to race the Italian nationals. I think it's going to be an epic battle from I can gather. Some of the tracks AC will have an advantage and others RV will. Like it was mentioned earlier, The GP guys normal beginning moto pace may be the difference between them and the early moto pace RV throws down.

the only thing in that vid that could beat RV is...maybe the mountain goats at the beginning of the vid. RV could be prone to buck fever possibly.

Why do all the Americans think RV is unbeatable? He has been beat straight up so many times, same with AC, GP, EVERY RACER. Why can't we wait until after the first round to start bench racing like this. At this point there is no point in watching according to vital because RV will "walk away with the title". So many biased guys here. I feel like 90% of the guys commenting here have never actually seen AC, or GP (except at MXON) race.

Interesting to see Gautier on the Honda for the first time. Very little to be told from that short clip but for what it's worth he looks comfortable there - as you'd expect. I think he'll definitely beat both RV and AC outright at some GPs. However going on history; personally I can't see him beating AC or RV for the championship. The guy is definitely capable though, so I wouldn't be desperately surprised one way or the other.

My guess at the moment is that Ryan and possibly Gautier will have the better of Tony in Qatar. Over the course of the championship though I'm sticking with Tony.

I think Paulin is being overshadowed by Cairoli's greatness. I will not be surprised if he wins his share of races. He looks incredible.

I think he will win races ,straight up here and there. I don't give him a 'chance in hell 'of winning the championship . not because of speed . just, I don't think he has every make it through a full series without missing a race . and he will need to do that to beat AC222 ,RV, the only rider I can see staying with them all year is CD25,

Yes he can. If Dungey can beat Villopoto, Paulin can too. He's been in front of Dungey the last 6 motos in MXdN.
Very good point...

Did someone really compare to when Paulin beat Dungey to Villopoto? Villopoto doesnt settle for second. Dungey does.

Try & find CBS sports network on your channels, you got that you are set, supposed to show both motos this year.

I never said he couldn't be beat but judging RV on Dunges success at the nations is comical. I agree with the above post that the first race and motos will tell both sides of the pond alot.

He has gotten 2nd and below many times...

I would like to say 2nd and below more times than 1st, but i didn't check that stat so it is probably wrong.

The main thing Paulin needs to work on is making his bad days better. If he can do that he has a good chance of winning the title. When he's at his best he's virtually impossible to beat, and he's an absolute joy to watch.
