I got two. They're great. I'm fortunate that they don't bark like crazy at bikes. I hate being at the track and when the dude leaves his pit all you hear is bark bark bark bark bark for the next 20 minutes.

Doodles are awesome. chics dig 'em.

Terrible moto dog--can't take the heat, freaks out at dirt bikes. But man, we all love that dog.

Australian Cattle Dogs often called blue or red heelers are a very robust dog. The ones I had didn't tolerate other dogs at all though. yes on everything you just said haha well except the tolerating other dogs I haven't had a problem.. yet! picked up Nelly from a shelter about 6 months ago and she won't let me out of her sight she's the best dog I've had by far incredibly smart super loyal
and the ladies are all about her.. hasn't worked yet but that's prob more on me than her

Here's our shop dog....well, she hates the heat and noisy engines so she lives indoors more than out. But she scares the hell outta people who walk up to the gate or door. lol She's an awesome, gentle dog.

But I don't recommend a Rott for a moto dog.

This thread is great! Here's our dog appropriately named Rider. We don't know what he is really since we picked him up from the pound as a puppy, but we think he's probably a Weimerunner/ Pitbull mix of some sort. Funny thing was we didn't think we were going to get a dog that day, but we just couldn't leave him there, walking through an animal shelter is probably the hardest thing for me to do, way to many great animals there who just want a home. As he's gotten older he's liking other big dogs less and less, but he pretty much just avoids them. Adopt people, best pets you will ever get are at local shelters waiting for a home!

Edit: Forgot to mention, he's the smartest dog I have ever seen. Not growing up in a litter of puppies made it a lot harder to train him not to bite when he was little, but he caught on to other commands incredibly quickly. Its funny how much dogs pick up on, they're smarter than most people give them credit for.

All dog's can be the ultimate companion when cared for properly. I love the dobermanns but I'm not sure why Americans all want to mutilate their ears. Dogs breath a bit easier here, all that kind of stuff , including tail docking, is illegal here. Our little cocker has a cracking tail and he certainly knows how to wag it!

Tried bringing our part red bone hound to the track once...She howled way too much if we strayed so that was that. Wonderful people dog.

Mine is actually pretty good around sounds but the bike made him unsure till he got used to it.

I'm on my second cattle dog and I wouldn't consider another breed, my first one didn't get along with other dogs, but my new one is pretty good, she has a couple of dobie friends she hangs with, they are very smart dogs and love to play and super loyal, they do need a lot of exercise though
