No idea man? This was about 15 years ago... He'd have to have at least 73 QLD sate championships?!Laughing
He lived up to his name, that's for sure.

While having a look at pic's of Stefans bike instead of working (its dropped a few degrees to 36C at the moment) I came across this pick in one of Tony Blaziers threads. The journo must be a stickler for details, apparently Yamaha should have told him it weighed 103.18kg!

Although its nobel to defend people that get paid to race dirt bikes for a living, You may want to work on getting used to it for your own sake. Shit talk was here before you joined the board and will still be here long after you switch to quad racing

The highest lever set up i ever sore was Matt Moss back in like 2009 when he was winning lites titles here on a suzuki. It looked like he basically set the bars and levers normally, then rolled the bars back to like minus 2 leaving the levers pointing to the sky. I vaguely remember him mentioning something about it being more comfortable when leant right over the back of the bike but he's gone away from that now a bit i think.

Wanna see a crazy cockpit set up, jump on google and have a look at Luke Clouts championship YZ from last year, bars in his lap and levers facing the ground, it cool to see the different things that work for some people.
I defiantly agree with the comments made on Luke Clout's bar and lever set up.
Was having a chat to Luke the other day and he said him and the team are trying new things as far as bar and lever set up go
For anyone who didnt have time to look up, here are some photos of Clout's setup

Mmm...no. It's a personal preference thing.

Having messed around with different lever heights and reach on my mountain bike (where you're using the levers for extended amounts of time), I can see that running them lower and with the reach further in helps reduce arm pump.
Since starting racing downhill MTB, I have started running levers lower and reach must closer as well.

On long, steep tracks (on the MTCool where you are on the brakes allot (Too much!!), it makes a massive difference to your forearms getting tight if you have the brakes biting almost at the bar and a little lower so you are inline with your forearms.

It also helped that I read it in the voice of Lloyd Christmas for some reason.

Apparently lower levers helps keep your elbows higher and body positioning forward. I could never get used to it though, towards the end of a race my arms would pump up really bad trying to reach for them.

i run mine parallel with the bars. i honestly think it helps stop arm pump and for my is all round more comfortable. im positive there was a study about it reducing arm pump a few years back to

Ever seen Desalle's bars or even Jason Lawrence? A lot of riders riding with the bars rolled way back now. Helps a lot in corners really. The lever position is not that agressive though. James also runs his levers very low.

Yeah i've seen Desalles, always thought they looked low for him, he's quite tall too isn't he? J-law always seemed to be part of his cornering thing... guess I was talking more about the difference between rolled back bars and super low levers... seems that'd put your arms at a funny pos is all...

Desalle is pretty average height (not for a rider though). Yes, you would think either have your bars rolled back or your levers low. If it's stupid and works, it's not stupid? Right?

Webs lever position looks normal for what we used to run in 1990.

What changed in "Lever Theory" between then and now?

There was a good thread a while back about Pros lowering their bars like that, supposed to give the rider more leverage on the front wheel for cornering. I have to say i'm intrigued but damn thats pretty low!!!

Hmmm, really?

I guess J-Law ripped corners but never attributed it too that.

Not an option for me regardless haha
