Sorry you can't see that.
Then why don't we ask the current racers, you know, the guys that actually race these tracks week-in week-out? I guarantee they wouldn't say "slow the racing down".

I raced my son's YZ125 a while back at Perris Raceway against a field of mostly 450's. I had to ride the wheels off of it but I beat the entire field of 45/52 Intermediates on the bumble bee.
I'm looking for a 125 project as we speak(type) Wink

We could argue all day long but I think the jumps are freaking great, the bikes are incredible and most of all the talent is the best that it has ever been. You do not have 1 or 2 guys that can win a race, you have 10 with lap times that are all pretty much exactly the same. That is amazing. Now you have to get those 10 guys close enough to each other to battle. I hate when Tomac is buried in 10th place and Roczen is in 1st and they will never get a chance to go at it and may never go at it the whole season(even though they did already but just making a point).

The goal is to get the fastest riders to race. That's what the spectator wants to see. We want to see a race. Not one guy 5 seconds ahead of everyone else. There is too much importance placed on the start. I don't know what the solution is because the start has been a part of moto and sx since the beginning but until you can get the top guys battling week in and week out you won't see good racing.

Fastest 450cc time was .9 seconds faster than the fastest 250cc four stroke time today. They won't let 250cc two strokes race the 250cc class because they say it's unfair so they MUST be faster than a 250cc four stroke so then you will be "slowing" down the race between .8 seconds and zero?

If a guy has 72 SX wins and says you should have two strokes who are we to argue? Cool

That's not really how logic works.

Lynch Mob,

I disagree. The last race was awesome but the first two were a little boring.

2 row starting grid something like the road racers do would keep the fastest guys racing ea other, less pile ups-

So you are talking about how fast the bike is......or how fast it goes around the track? Logical enough for you?

Everyone whose answer is "the tracks" would be correct.

Run practice Friday afternoon and some day qualifiers Saturday morning/afternoon. 2 main events for each class in the night show. Score it like MX. Nothing but top tier talent for the ticket buyer and more TV time for those in the top 22. I miss showing up early for day qualifiers.

To many heats, semis and lcq's... Just add one 125 race, 10 laps would do! Racing has been great in the 250 class!

Qualifying races during the day(hardcore fans only want to watch heats-semi's)...

Televised Night show only 2 main events... which are 45 minutes long each.

Limit size of gas tank to require a gas stop, bike performance change or change riding style to save fuel for the long main event.

No Holeshot devices
All Concrete start behind the gate.

Required set widths(parameters) for the first turn.... maybe even require it to be banked. Same every track

Television coverage:
Broadcast Team: Broadcast Professional, Ex Team Manager for championship team and an Ex-rider... Ex-Rider must be over 40yrs old and maybe a past champion.... maybe swap manager for C'ship Mechanic.

Show starts with 3 person panel setting up story lines for the main events... All teams are REQUIRED to let in the TV broadcast team into haulers and be available for interviews which will be aired at this time... penalties for teams/riders that shut out the media while on track property.

The 2 Field reporters should be one serious who has been there done that... and the other one should be funny and easy going.

250 Main airs

Half Time: 3 person panel talks briefly about 250 main and sets up the 450 main

450 Main airs

Coverage Conclusion:
Close story lines set up in the beginning and tease new ones for next race.

Same format every race... improve on it every race.... move people around until you get the right mix.

Are you laughing at the idea of a concrete start in general or are you laughing at having to bring in the precast concrete slabs with built in lift points that are used across the country everyday at every race?

What's the point of a concrete start? To make it even?

Please!!! 250f's are doing the same obstacles and almost the same lap times as the 450's....it's like watching the same class twice....except make a 150cc class instead!! Smile Smile

If they want people to qualify to race SX it makes more sense to have the kids race SX and not arenacross. Make a class for them that could be raced before the night show begins.

SX marketing could use a professional makeover. Might be time to ditch the screaming announcer, ridiculous fireworks, and Monster babes in favor of something a bit more mature. Not every SX fan is an over-sexed teenage boy.

I've wanted this for a long time.
You can make a girl look sexy without looking slutty and therefore increase the family friendly aspect of the sport.

Break the 450 main into two ten lappers, with the 250 main in between.
