don't think I could ever sneak a bike by her, so I just buy them without asking lol. they are actually for my son so I don't get to much shit and I have a "race account" that she has no idea how much money is in, she'd prolly kill me if she had a clue what we spend. I do sneak in a new gun or upgrade my archery equipment every now and then and she has never noticed.

My wife doesnt really mind what I spend money on. I dont spend a ton of money regularly so she is cool with me getting new stuff every now and then.

I get a ton of overtime, so I have made a deal with her that everything I want (big purchases) will come from my overtime checks. Has always worked for me so I wont change that.

I don't make too many purchases without her knowledge, and she doesn't say much when I buy things. She had a nice job, but decided she wanted a different degree. She quit her job and is now working on a second degree. I'm also in school, so we're broke at the moment, living off of my 20 hour a week job. Now that we don't have any money, I have to be sneaky. I told her I was going to buy a piston, but ended up buying crank bearing, fork seals, engine seals, and a transmission bearing on top of the piston.Whistling

It evens out because I'll probably be selling the bike soon to cover her tuition.

I haven't seen my money for over 25 years! But if I want something as in a bigger ticket item, I wouldn't think of getting it without her approval.

Maybe that has helped to have a pretty awesome marriage for the last 32 years!

We have separate accounts and she doesn't complain at all when I buy something. I do still run it past her, but she just says whatever you want. I am very lucky.

do you find yourself going out to "check the mail" or "look at something on the lawnmower" just to sneak a peak?
Let's just say the "dogs were fed" a lot until the actual reveal !!

I guess I almost wasn't born because my mom and dad got in a fight back in the day, so he went out and bought a leftover '83 YZ490. I'm gonna get that bike tatted on my shoulder here pretty soon haha not for any reason related to their old fight, but now that I think about it, that is kinda funny.

I am addicted to online shopping so when I have downtime at work i am always surfing the web and buying things i like (fuck you paypal for making it so easy) So my girlfriend used to get home before me and there would always be a box sitting on the porch. Well after having to explain myself everytime i made a few tweaks to my work schedule so i conveniently get home just a little bit before her. Boxes are in the garage and placed strategically. Problem solved

Had a down on the first YZ250F my dealer was getting in. As the due date got closer I got more antsy and Yamaha gives their dealers shit for ship windows, very frustrating and my daily check ins weren't helping the dealers patience either. I finally folded and purchased a new CR 250. Sure as shit that same afternoon the Yamaha dealer called me to let me know they were breaking into the crate on my new 250F. Needless to say the wife wasn't pleased when I rolled up with both.

At that point you made the right choice. If the wife can't respect that, she needs to find a guy more into foo-foo-dumbshit that can buy her mimosas. I can't imagine you regret that decision at all to this day.

Oh I'm stealing that idea.... It's brilliant!!!

Just wondering
I did the same thing with a race car 5 years ago , the invoice showed up in the mail before I got to the mail box ,needless to say that was not a Plesant phone call and I got the silent treatment for 2 weeks , and don't think when she gets pissed that will not get thrown in ur face but it's well worth it, and deep down she knows that's what makes me tick . Good luck

Kd is boxed mac and cheese. It's a Canadian thing, you wouldn't understand.
It's about $1 a box. Very reasonable.

I bought a new CRF 250 then put the same numbers on it that I had on my CR 250 and told the wife I bought new graphics. She never knew the difference.

I showed up at the house with a bike 2 weeks after our son was born and right before we bought a new house. I also bought a street bike about a month after we were married. She just kinda rolled her eyes, haha. She doesn't really care what I buy.

Just a word of advice, make sure you sign up for online statements only immediately. And make sure you have a good excuse if she ever found out. I didn't want to keep my secret account from my wife anymore. She's cool about money and I don't have much I feel like I need to keep from her. The stuff I need to keep from her I shouldn't be getting anyways. So I told her the money was to take her on a cruise once she graduated. Going on a cruise on January 10th.

I wouldn't do that to my wife because I wouldn't want her to do that to me!

I have had at least 1 bike for the last 30 years and been married for 32.

"Ummm yeah I bought this $8000 bike without you knowing about it......oh yeah well I just purchased 2 horses for $10,000!"
