My KTM doesn't have a kick-starter. I hit that button All The Time & it ALWAYS works.

Same goes for my DRZ, Jet Skis, Silverado & my lawn-mower.

Put my $500 deposit down today on the KTM FE450. Been a Honda guy for past 10 years and will keep riding a bunch of them. Before that I ran Kawasaki's for 10 years. Im not a mcf fan boy. They are merely tools. In fact I hate the looks of the FE's this year.

I have to admit im not a huge fan of the rear end, i think its the rea plastic that kinda ruins the overall look.

Possibly one of the most ground breaking bikes in the last 20 years and people are arguing about plastic. This is a 60 hp 226 lb bike with a lower center of gravity than the previous bike that already handled great. I question whether some people around here ever know what they're looking at.

And they could probably shave another 2 lbs with air forks.

Not anything drastic? KTM are just willing to do something radical meanwhile their japanese collegues doing trusty old steady development, dont give me wrong i agree its amazing with all the weight loss and all that but i tihnk the japs could do the same if they wanted to, but they dont - they got another strategy / aproach. KTM doing badass things fast . A small company like KTM compare to Honda could do things faster and damn they been using rocket fuel since Stefan Everts joined them back in 2007.

I honestly think it looks great in person, especially TLD's race bikes. Those things are gorgeous!

Ahh, I was about to say "No way, I didn't see you!", but it's one of Chris Wilson's photos. Laughing

Everybody seems to like the TLD bikes the most. Redbull lost some ground this year with their new graphics. Personaly i would like the redbull factory ktm´s to have orange rear end. Cant wait to see some videos - anything of that coming up soon ?

I saw Guy lurking in some twmx pictures to !

Any info on the 2016 ktm 2 strokes? I know they'll have the same plastics, frame, etc, but will they have all new motors like the 4 strokes? Haven't seen an all new 2 stroke motor from ktm in awhile. The 4 strokes have gotten a few new one's in the last 4 years or so (2011,2013, 2015 FE) and nothing all new for the 2 strokes.

First thing I'm doing with my FE450 is ripping the red bull graphics off. I despise energy drinks and they look gay as fuck. Hopefully cycra/ufo/acerbis offers a full orange plastic kit. The white plastic has to go.

They've all competed in MotoGP so the technology is there. The question is whether they can mass produce it and sell it to a local Joe. That's what is so amazing about this bike.

I'm sure that all of the factory 450's are in the neighborhood of 220 lbs and 60 hp with a lightweight rotating assembly to make it turn better. .........but to be able to buy one for 10 G's? Wow.

I put $500 down on a 450FE months ago anticipating it was going to be awesome.

Looks like that was a smart call.

So roughly 6 pounds for 1 gallon of fuel so it puts it at around 238lbs ready to ride. Still 5 lbs lighter than the 2015 CRF450R. I'm glad KTM keeps pushing the bikes development forward so it forces other brands to not remain stagnant. If they had a 250 or 300 SX factory edition I would give them a blank check in a heartbeat.

motocross is expensive. Especially since the four stroke domination. No fan of the price tag either but like i said before if you want a new four stroke and want to bling it , you probably end up losing even more money. If you gonna build and you enjoy it , start of with a factory edition would be a good start point. If the pocket juicy lol.

Look how much better the redbull bike looks with a rear orange fender. Wont you agree lads ?

I put a deposit on the 15.5 Factory Edition 450 a couple months ago, just in case I ended up wanting one. I'm being told they will arrive in February, which gives me time to decide what I'm going to do......

I bought a 14.5 Factory Edition 450 and put a crapload of money into it. (Full Ti bolt kit, Faster USA Wheel set, FMF TI/Carbon exhaust, NEKEN Air clamps, ENZO suspension re-valve w/ x-trig preload adjuster, chain/sprockets, chain guide, SXS Calipers w/ 270 Galfer front rotor, Raptor pegs, Goland filter, CV4 hoses and tank barrier, hammerhead shifter/brake pedal, Works Connection parts, race maps installed, little bit of Orange bling, hinson Cover, Renthal intelilevers, not to mention I just bought a set of Cone Valve Forks and Trax shock shock, which I haven't even gotten to enjoy yet. (I broke my back 7 weeks ago and I'm still a few weeks from being able to ride the bike)

So here I am wondering if I should sell my 14.5 "as-is" and accept the loss, or put it back to stock and use what I can on the new one... (Wheels, pegs, air clamps, etc,) and I'd hope the shock will fit the new bike, since the new bike has an "all new" shock on it. The forks will work, but the shock worries me. I love my bike and I have it set up for me perfectly, so why in the hell do I feel the need to buy this new bike ? PHUCK me.... I have issues !! Lol

* PS, I already know that I didn't NEED 90% of the parts that I put on my bike, so please save all the smart ass remarks. I spent 15 years building badass race bikes for my son, from 50's to 450's. When he quit racing in '07, I had a serious VOID in my life to fill, since I spent all my time working on his bikes and taking him riding/racing. I started riding again, after he quit and I have never been happier. I put in a lot of time at the tracks and am riding better than I've ever ridden, so I figure if I can afford to do what I want with my hard earned money, I wanted a badass bike. Believe it or not, it really DID make me go faster.... Lol
Maybe it's in my head, but I've been having the time of my life riding with my friends again.

So..... Anyone looking for a low hour (49.9) '14.5 Factory Edition 450 ? I'm pretty sure I'll have one for sale here soon. Either back to stock, or full blown race team replica, without the race motor. If worse comes to worse, I'll keep the 14.5 and have 2 bikes, but I really don't need 2 MX bikes. Lol I already have a tricked out '14 EXC500 for my off road/ single track riding.
what do you think to the neken air clamps? worth the $$$$$$$$$ ? they seem like a really good idea to me, but the pricetag is...

Honestly, they work great. The price rag is pretty heavy for what you get. But I will say I would buy them again, I have a bad wrist and they take the harshness out of the square edge bumps and also an extra cushion when bottoming out the suspension. I tried the PHDS bar mounts first, but the air clamps are in a different league. I run FLEXX bars on my off road bike, fur the same reasons... I love the FLEXX bars, but they are a little bulky/ heavy for an MX bike, IMO.
Have you looked into the Twisted Eng. carbon bars for MX? Light weight and engineered for extra flex.

I have seen first hand those bars fail multiple times. The concept sounds legit. But carbon fiber breaks down over time and becomes more brittle until the breaking point. Watched them snap in half right next to the throttle and my buddy ate complete shit in the whoops because of it. Not to mention getting practically stabbed from the broken bars themselves. They need more research etc to be safe.

Yes sir. Not ragging on the company. Names withheld, a deal was in place and it they treated him well. But this happened a few times. Like I said, the concept is great and they really are flexible with the carbon fiber/composite material. I think they need to find a way to make them more reliable.
