Was stolen in Midland, Michigan about a week ago from a good buddy of mine. Has Bougner Suspension.

The guy is literally 6'6" so the bar setup should be a dead giveaway. Plus the owner is a County Sheriff, so let's help get this scum bag perp in the jail where he works for some 'justice' . Cool

$50 a month here and the cheapest ive seen was like $35 a month.. The fact that you assume everyones insurance is gonna be exactly the same as yours in 49 other states makes you a complete moron. Thanks for your time!

i.insure 2 mx bikes from..proggressive. policy rates depend on zip code, what coverage you have , each policy is different. but its still cheaper than replacing a $2000-10000 toy.

Damn that really blows... I'll watch for it

If you haven't already, I'd let your local dealers know so that they can flag the VIN as stolen in the Honda system, in case the dumbass tries to sell it to a dealer or take it to get worked on. I've come across a couple flagged units like that as a service advisor and have had some success getting people their stuff back

We have heavy duty chains bolted to the wall looping through our bikes as security. Been broken into once or twice and they haven't been able to cut the chain (it would really take an angle grinder) and pinched our toolbox instead.

It really doesn't cost much in the grand scheme of things for such security methods and some insurance.

My bikes are covered by my homeowner's insurance (which I found out after having a YZ250 stolen).

How quickly the thread turns from helping a guy out and keeping your eyes peeled to "what an idiot for not having insurance." Blink

Unrelated to the topic, but a friend of mine from Fairgrove Mi, said there was a rash of break ins in his hood a while back. Always while the owners were away obviously, but there was some suspicion that the thief was a known local. On a Sunday morn, a couple that normally goes to chuch on a rigid routine, had something come up, and just the wife went, taking their car, but the husband stayed home.

Not long after the wife leaves, the husband sees a pickup pull into the yard, enter the barn, and start loading stuff into it. Guess the farmer snuck out with his 12 gauge, and when the perp cam out with his arms full, Mr Farmer butt ended him in the jaw with said 12 gauge. Broke a bunch of teeth out and his jaw, then called the cops. Hauled him away, and a while later, the perp tried to sue him for injuries. Lol It didn't fly, but I guess they found a LOT of stolen shit at this aholes house.

Really? I'm not sure that's correct...my insurance guy told me that anything that has to be licensed (cars, motorhomes, bikes, etc.) are supposed to have their own insurance policy.

Maybe it's a state thing? Or maybe my insurance guy was just trying to sell me more insurance? lol

In Michgan, you are allowed to have your ORVs covered under your homeowner's policy if they don't have a street-legal title. You can also get a separate policy for them if you want, but most will list them under their homeowners insurance. There is no registration for an ORV as far as the state is concerned. Road bikes require separate policies

Did Bean Fest 2 years in a row, and kayaked both ways on the river from a town on M-15 I think it was, coming North out of Clarkston. Firehall breakfast on Sunday, and some drinking too. ( You might have guessed ) Good times, cool little village. My buddy is part of the Tomlinson clan.

uk, I disagree, the pain that son of a bitch would've endured is far better than death. Plus, add in the criminal charges for his burglaries. No, this story had a happy ending, and didn't even start out with "Once upon a time".

Sorry about your bike man. Not trying to be an ass but maybe the shed isn't the place for your bikes?

Titan 1 is correct, in md my buddy learned the hard way. Requires a different policy.

I think I found it in Ferguson....

In all seriousness though, good luck! Maybe since he's a cop they will actually run the prints. When my brother's car got recovered with very obvious prints all over it they told him they wouldn't run them because they weren't CSI.

Horrible to get your stuff stolen, My first stolen item was a YZ125 C in 1976. Made me sick, but I trudged on. Sleeping lightly at night and listening, watching ever since. Never even had one substantial clue, and I worked in the motorcycle industry for 15 years in the same area after that. Not a sign of who it was.
Then July 4th 2013 weekend I take the motorhome and put it in the shop so the thief thinks I'm away and I get hit again, this time a trailer. And again no clue. I say find them, and do damage. I'm so sick of getting ripped off.
Sorry for your loss....I feel ya.
