doh, didn't realize you could test ride before signing with a team.

went to rockstar suzuki, felt like i was faster on the lower level honda i had before....then i stayed with the team declining offers until i wrapped the championship

i signed with cls for the mx 1 450 class......hope i don't hate the bike.

i love this game.

honestly, even with it's faults the career/real tracks make it the best entire package out there imo. i don't really understand why the ama has never really been able to do this again (i think there was a ps1 game that had real moto tracks that i had as a kid).....

i'd even take mva and play the wheels off it if it had the real national tracks. i'm not a hard man to appease with moto games. i see the good in each of them but for me. a real licensed series is a GIGANTIC selling point to me. it's awesome.

Had the game since launch on the PS3. Into my 4th season now. Signed with redbull KTM and they stick u on a 350. You can really tell the lack of power to the 450. So left them after 5 meetings. It's frustrating that there is no clutch and when u scrub the front always drops really bad. Also you guys tried the diffrence from hard to realistic they gain 3 secs on me

Here you guys go! 1 lap on a daytona-like track, on a privateer 250f. I wasn't going as fast as possible, a little bit of out of control and goonery, and a check on the first person mode. Guys I'm loving this game (and I've only got 2 races in, this video being the 2nd).

The speed and riding concepts feel real. I also bought MotoGP and its the same concepts. In MOTOGP 200+mph feels like it and, in comparison, MXGP feels right at their 50ish mph. Some may say it's slow, but have you ever looked at speeds on a dirtbike? I ride with my garmin gps watch, and shorter tracks I average a 25-27 mph pace. Yeah, the bike floats a lot over the jumps (spend a total of 2 minutes in the air is one of the first trophies you get) but the cornering and traction and speed, jump sections, ruts and roughness, 1st person mode, 22 riders, qualifiers, gate picks, 2 moto format, real tracks, bikes, and riders, a FUCKING AMAZING career mode. It’s got it all guys, you gotta check it out.

This is on the PS4

Looks DOPE! Is the gameplay pretty much the same on computer? Can I use this on a Mac?

This game is amazing. I've definitely learned you have to go test bikes out in quick mode to get a feel for them before signing with just any team. There are a few 450s that require a lot of forward lean to keep the front end down. I wish you could get gear deals as well, or have the option to go full privateer. But this is by far one of the best mx games I've ever played. Imagine if they did this with the either the us nationals or supercross series!

I've noticed on my xbox 360 version of the game, I don't get a red plate on my bike nor can I run the number 1. Also I thought you could race against 20-22 ppl? All my races have had 16 riders. Anyone know anything about this?
22 rider gate is only on the PS4 version, same as the red plate. You cannot run the #1 plate in either version, I guess since TC222 nor Herlings ran it in 2013 they just decided to not make it an option. Hopefully with Tixier running it in MX2 in 2015 they realize that they should include it as an option in the next installment.

realistic difficulty, pro physics, full race weekend, 20 lap motos. If your not playing like this your not getting the full experience.

I use the practice and qual to really dial my lines and set-up. On realistic difficulty, the computer lays down some pretty fast laps and it can be challenging for me to get the fastest lap. but, i don't cut the coarse at all, and you can do it like crazy in this game, and if you did it even a little bit i'm sure its probably pretty easy to destroy the A.I.

and playing 20 lap motos (without pausing) is a good challenge too, for me anyway. It's hard to remain focused and it gets sort of fatiguing, and coincidentally, my hands start to go numb like I was riding for real...

I seem to have a problem dropping the front end too much when scrubbing. You guys have the same problem? Every now and then it's not bad.

As far as the game goes, for me I love it! The Rockstar Suzuki was a good bike for me and now went to the KX team and noticed it didn't handle the same. Thought it was just me until I read your posts here! LMAO! Thanks for the heads up. Since this is the only thing I play on xbox I don't remember what my gaming name is but when I get back on I will post it here to go race with you guys

If you feel the front is dropping to much when scrubbing , you are jumping too far. You can scrub earlier , let off the gas, dab the rear brake on the face , or a combo of all those to actually hit the backsides of the jumps. It may seem counter intuitive ,but your laptimes will improve.

I'll request you too if ok although different times obviously so the racing may be few and far between

There's already getting a lot of dirty racing, pisses me off big time, corner cutting, missing entire straights, group collisions arrrggghhh . Hate going online, waiting for a lobby to start then fins out its full of twats who just wanna ruin your day

Sounds daft but I start mine with a high front end, some bikes are worse for it I've noticed. Also using the back brake helps soooo much , course this means using the brake on its own and not dual. Pro physics are way better anyway

Personally I like blue !bikes!

Moved from my Dixon Yamaha 250 to the CLS Kawi 450 today, worst decision ever

Gimme back my lil bike saaaaaarrrrggghhhAngry
Sounds good man, I've been getting spanked online lately haha. I moved to the world Kawi 450 and I hate it as well, I was riding so well on the Yami 450. I wish I could just switch teams on my own but I guess I have to wait.

Yeah online is killing me, I was alot faster on the 250, the 450 is taking some adjustment. I'll look out for you man, get some clean races going.

Honestly I am going to start looking for MXBOX Live races without collisions.

I spent a few hours late last night racing against a group that either did not care about crashing / taking you out or outright took you out. Neither was fun. Kind of took the fun out of it.

Not to mention wholesale cutting of the track.

I noticed the Lativa & Netherlands tracks have long areas the cheaters go around. I refuse to cheat so I am going to just avoid those tracks when I can.

Do you guys ever lose the front end when cornering making the rider crash? seems to only happen when I'm leaning into the corner. I think i'm going to fast. Also one thing that drives me nuts, leaning in and catching a bump which makes the rider do a scrub and then crash. Last night I tried braking harder and going a bit easier on the "Reflex" stick. Seems to smooth me out a bit.

If you move both sticks the same way it does that sometimes, move the right stick the opposite direction like you are weighing the outside peg. Paul333 add me Boost Rydndirty don't worry I try to ride clean, maybe we can get a group of folks together to try to ride decent. Of course there are times when you have to park someone.

Switched to Yamaha dixon450 soon as my manager got me the interest and boom, smiling again. Had no idea I'd be able switch mid season.

Can not go back green. No way

Yeah I do that on the sweepers, guess I need to not be so hard on the stick on the slow, tight corners. haha sounds good I'll look you guys up!

Tight corners to stop the front going I've started to lean into the corner early, get my angle and then just hammer the outside peg

Seems Ito work

Also, look how much front preload you have, it tends to wash easy if it's set high

Use the back brake dude, screw the paired braking off it's not needed just in case you're using that, back brake works a treat for setting up

you know I started brake sliding with the rear last night, its pretty sweet when you nail it just right! How do the Pro physics differ from the base? more sensitive?

I found that I went a little faster when I used less frt/rear brakes. Seemed to have better flow. Although some tracks (France) is so narrow and elevation changes you just have to nail the brakes.

I'm able to beat the AI on Realistic, but when I go online there are some people that are way faster than me. We did a 5 lap race and I barely finished at the end! I know some of these fast guys are not taking shortcuts either.

When the realistic AI cant finish a 5 lap race , you are running with the fast guys. Thats the best barometer.

My routine for cornering involves four things happening simultaneously:

Brake (even if its just a tap). I do the same thing as far as hitting the corner too fast. In this game, I've found that you've got to go slow to go fast sometimes.
Lean in with the left stick
Move the rider up with the right stick
Counter the corner (weigh the outside peg)

My biggest problem is what you alluded to: Hitting a braking bump or a hump entering the corner and then "scrubbing" into a crash. That Brasil track is the worst with these, you really have to brake early and slow down through the corners to avoid going airborne.

I took Holeshotmotos advice and started using brakes to scrub instead of scubbing, it may be slower but it makes the game bearable for me, i got sick of that stupid scrub!

Kinda surprised this thread is still around, let alone catching up to the "excellent" MvA thread.

The game looks neat. Honestly if I hadn't downloaded Supercross I might be tempted to sell it and get this. It does look like the handling's kind of clunky though...

i took a practice spin on the ktm 350 and felt like i was back to riding very fast like on the 250...

the 450 i just have trouble feathering the power, doubt i went much slower on the 350.

Its pretty good man, the handling smooths out as you learn to play the game. There is a learning curve much like it was with REFLEX. I haven't touched MXvsATVSX since I bought this game. Shit I'll probably keep playing it even if the Reflex servers come back on and I loved that game. You just can't beat the tracks in this game, its such a blast.
