Never talk to the police ? ?

The first guy is funny.

The second guy is startling, at least to me. He is a cop who openly admits to lying to suspects during interrogations. I didn't know that was legal but he says it is.

The biggest deception is them telling you if you cooperate with them they will take it easy on you.

Best thing to do is say little or nothing, You after all have the right to remain silent and should use that right.

You should never talk to the police, when you are arrested and read your Miranda rights," anything you say can and will be used against you" they, the police are telling you to keep your mouth shut, but criminals are dumb or intimated by police and basically rat themselves out, a lawyer once told me " the best way to deal with our legal system is not to deal with it" good advice

I've seen that lecture before, it's a pretty good one. It's a pretty unfortunate deal, especially with the police being held to such a low standard of accountability, but I understand that their tactics are effective and probably justified in most cases.

Yeah, I believe the cop who ends by saying that he doesn't intend to send innocent people in jail, although the stat the first guy quotes shows that something about the system is broken: in 25% of the "DNA exoneration" cases the wrongly accused defendants were people who shouldn't have talked to the cops but did.

Anyhoo, its a long video but I hope that people watch it!

Wrong. Best thing to do is be a decent and honest person, then you have no reason to lie..

If you did something wrong, it's best to lawyer up and not say anything.

Wrong. It doesn't matter if you lie or not...get it? It can be something as simple as using a different word to say the same thing.

That is what the entire lecture is about. Not only by the lawyer, but the police officer actually further explains the approach that police take, specifically during interrogations. Many, many innocent people ended up in jail simply because they've given an honest statement to the police, but may have changed a single word or gotten a time frame off by a few minutes. Honesty doesn't mean much to authorities that are in a position to gain only by conviction. It's a case, not an actual reconstruction of reality.

You should actually watch the lecture.

You don't need to be an expert or have a degree to form opinions based on available evidence.

Are you an internet engineer or a web developer? If not, then what makes you think you are qualified to post on a message board? Do you see the problem with that line of thinking?

If they have suspicion of you being involved in a criminal act, I'd say the best thing to do is not talk at all.

Actually I am, but I'm not advising people on how to use the internet, so my credential aren't a factor.

Advising people on legal matters when you have no professional experience or knowledge is just stupid. Hopefully no one takes your advice seriously, unless you are a law professional, then I stand corrected.

You don't want to talk to the police without a lawyer if they feel you're involved in any sort of criminal activity.
You don't need a law degree to give that advice dip shit.
