Just picked one up for Trace to move up too yesterday (he does not know about it yet).

No pics yet. Needs a little TLC but overall not bad, stock tires and a fresh motor.

There are things in the works like re-jetting, some plastic with graphics and numbers, change heavy springs back to stock & re-valve and go from there, add Engine Ice & Lucas Oil as required, tires etc., etc.

I know there are all kinds of things that can be done to it, but I was wondering what Tips & Tricks you have done that worked or did not work for what ever reason?

Pics when it's ready to go....

Thanks in advance!

it's not really anything amazing but it does look cool! you can take the 09-11 kawi 250f front fender and front number plate and put on the 03-05 model 125's

Vforce and a pro circuit pipe can't hurt.

I ran d.e.p pipe and silencer, Vforce, and an i-cat/ I boost. on my 125's. People bad mouth the icats but it made a pretty big noticiable difference in the low to mid range. The I cat is deff worth the money

Thanks for some of the ideas!

Here are a couple of photos during phase 1... Getting numbers...

Full graphics kit will be later along with other odds and ends...

Trace was excited when he found out about the bike. Zach wants to race it next year in Schoolboy 1 for the LL's qualifiers....

More photos as the 2005 KX 125 project continues.

When do I need to shim the valves on this bike?? Tongue

Shorten the throttle cable so that the slide is hung wide open.

A change in reeds are a must. Vforce or Boyesen? are good. For my KX125 I wanted as much bottom as I can get. The mid-to-high rpm range is where it shines, but some more bottom wouldn't hurt.

I hope your boy has fun on that thing......

If u want to do a little internal work i reccomend getting it port and polished. It feels like a brand new bike once the cylinder is cleaned up. And of course a pipe setup, it'll be alot crisper.

I have sent a few emails inquiring about some things, but their customer service seems to be lacking in customer service at this point.

Not bagging PC, but most emails I send inquiring about service, product etc., I get a reply within a few minuets to a couple of hours, not days with no response..... Just saying...

My personal preference would be black rims and gold chain, but everyones different.

x2 on the fender/number plate.

See if you can get a set of forks from an 05 to 07 KX250 (2 stoke) they are twin chamber KYB as opposed to single chamber non recirculating KYB on the 125. FAR better forks and they will bolt right up to wheel , caliper and triple clamps. Springs should crossover.(?)

V Force reed cage, pipe and exhaust will make a huge improvement without having to really do anything major with the engine. Oh, and add a tooth to the rear sprocket...

52 tooth sprocket add a pro circuit rear linkage along with the pipe and silencer. Just ask pro circuit everything they did to their 125s and you will have it made.
