250 class in Australia 2 stroke restrictions

Factory teams in MX2 in Australia, is there any such thing these day apart from Serco and I guess the sole Penrite Honda, so three bikes.

Hmm I would not blame two strokes on a lack off "Factory rides" in the mx2 class. I blame the OEM's using it as an excuse that it is unfair and a unfair advantage to race a two stroke 250 against their 250F platforms. . When a proper 250F race motor produces near on 50hp (new Yam might have gone over?) anyway. Also when the 250F was first introduced down there it was raced in the 250 2T class to begin with and did quite well.

Why is honda, kawi and suzuki afraid of 2 strokes, protectionism will only hurt racing in the long run. There used to be a very successful series here in the 70'sand early 80's called the Camel Pro series. Honda started winning races beating h-d's by the early 80s.HD cried to the AMA. The ama called for increased weight and restrictions on the Honda. So Honda pulled out. Now the current form of the Camel series is 16 races and only 8 different tracks. So protecting the expensive 4 stroke bikes by restricting the inexpensive 2 stroke bikes makes no sense to me. Why would one pay 2 times as much to race a 4 stroke versus as a 2 stroke? Kalib Russell won the last GNCC on a 150 2 stroke, beating all those works GNCC 4 stroke bikes.
