Where was that photo from?
If its not photochopped, it looks like KTM is finally going with linkage.

Saw that on MT too it's for real and the rider in the pic is supposed to be Everts. 2010 should be an interesting year for new models just like this year

Wow...let's see. I'm turning quicker laps on my 2008 KTM 200XC than I was on my YZ250F, so with the linkage, that must mean that I will be even faster!

Yes there are some new KTM's coming out with linkage and fuel injection.
I dont think they really feel like they need it...but more, because people think they need it, so this way, more people will buy them instead of debating about it.

I read somewhere KTM originally was the first bike with linkage, and then took it off? Is that true? And, It would of been Penton (sp?) which I think may of been KTM before KTM...

1982 was the first year that KTM put linkage on a production bike as far as I know.
Honda was the first to put a modern-day style of linkage on a production bike in 1981.
I thought I read somewhere that Horst Leitner (sp) had something to do with the current KTM style swingarm mounted shock.

Bikes use to have two shocks without a linkage..........Good riders rode them fast (over rough tracks). Those same riders would still whip most of the riders debating this topic with the twin shock bikes..................Give it a rest please.

Correct on Honda being the first with linkage similar to what we have today, Kawasaki was the first with linkage though(strut style).

I bet they leave the off road bikes alone and put the linkage on the SX models only. A properly set up MXC or EXC works like magic in the woods.

But will it make sense for them to develop two different systems at the same time? Don't know...
