I didn't go, however i thought their would be more entries. Wasn't many privateers.
I guess the field would of been bigger if Yamaha didn't pull out.

Would of been cool to see a live stream.
I think the Sx series needs to land big name sponsor, to help with more prize money etc.
Maybe that will attract more riders.

I posted this to a friends facebook page...

Yeah mate, both nights, was expecting to see ya!! My home town so came back with my Brother and his Missus to see the Olds and watch some damn dirt bikes.

Not bad start. Little disappointed with the track... All that space and they cramped it up again! I don't get it. I'd probably drop the FMX and use the dirt for some more 180 berms. Likewise, open the track, move the pits so if the monster truck is there he's got some room.

Weird not watching Reed... Matt was way out front, and Monea about the same again. Bopping looked in good form again, from the back both nights. Jake looked tight? Harrison looked awesome last night and came through good again. Peters was peppy but not without a start. They'll need to get starts to beat Faith tho. Kale was horrible last night but seemed more comfortable tonight, much better rhythm.

Oh... And to continue our vital discussion I say they're pretty equal! (250f vs 250 two stroke)

I read that post somewhere Crush Smile

I was a little surprised by the rider numbers, thought there might be a few more, but I guess riders (Privateers) just don't have any money left to go racing after covering the country for a 10 year MX Series.

Yamaha pulling out accounts for 3 riders maybe four if CDR put on a second rider, so no big deal in the grand scheme of things, just we get robbed of seeing 3 of Australia's best up and coming riders in action!

Only footage I have seen is the two highlight video's.

Ill be at rounds 3/4 at Phillip Island and the Brisbane round so will give my thoughts after those two.

I don't think there are any Kiwi's riding at all?

Didn't go and to be honest I haven't' seen a lot of info coming through social media (bit disappointing) but I guess that's what happens when Aaryn goes on holidays! Laughing

Apparently night 1 the crowd was a little bit disappointing but night 2 was much better. Again this is just what I heard.

Very cool to see Harry get the W on night 1 in 250's. I haven't seen night 2 results yet.

Come on MCfan4life, I got back from Holiday's at 10pm last night and had results up on the site at 10.30 lol.

I had no phone reception until 6am Saturday morning when we docked back in Brisbane and was frantically looking for results lol, ended up relying on a friends FB page who was updating results from the live timing before finding the results page.

All live timing is on Computime.com or computime.com.au actually a decent live timing in terms of updating every time a rider crosses the line instantly. Layout is not as friendly as the AMA live timing, but it does the job.

Ill be taking photo's at Phillip Island and have just received confirmation that I have full media access to the MotoGp again this year, so need to remember to get back to the SX track for races. Leaving the airconditioned MotoGP media center on top of pit straight is hard to do lol.

Ha! Mossy better not chase me here! haha... I see his point, I just don't like the idea of little bikes and big bikes together. The kid was hauling tho, but he also wasn't the only one, 2nd night there were two, but I think the 2nd was an actual 85 instead of a supermini.

Gates looked ok in finals. Heats were patchy. Serco wasn't there either tho I guess... 2 more.

I said to my mate and Brother, it's such a hard sport in terms of participation.... If you're a Dad, your young Bloke or Lady is showing promise, it's such a big country to drive about, and you have to expose them to it heaps to do it right, and then for what. Staying in Aus is an outcome only the best guys would be ok with, if you're top 10 behind Matt and maybe a few more, it's gotta be so hard making coin and getting by.

Crowds - There would have been maybe 2.5G there friday night, and they didn't hang around. ... About 6 maybe second night.

There was one kiwi I think? Well at least I thought I heard the announcer say so but gosh knows who. Is there a PA system around the country that is easy to listen to (with generators and bikes going haha)

Pretty hard to follow/get keen when there's no streaming or anything available, and just a couple of backyard highlight reels.

This series was quickly thrown together yeah? Hopefully they get serious about it next year.

i think alot of the reason the gates are so empty is that its so hard to find an actual track to ride to get any practice on. unless you have somewhere you can make your own track or know people with a sx track theres no where that you can practice. and also by the time you get your SX endorsement, suspension, ect. the costs start adding up quickly and it just gets all to hard for most people

The Highlight reels are horrible. I only watched the first one. Some of the riding in it was from practice...... It didn't represent the racing at all.

I thought Jackson Richardson would be better than the Aussies that beat him on night 2. Did he crash? What was up? Looks like Harrison had one of his flashes in night 1. Good one him.

Richardson was pretty good, didn't get amazing starts but he was probably comparable to all but Faith and Harrison on night one...

The 'highlights' videos don't portray the state of Aussie SX in a very good light, both literally and figuratively.

B/W 85's and 100's have been used in the JNR 125 class for a very long time. But when your only motocross knowledge is what you read on here I would not expect you to know that haha!

Read what I wrote. I said I don't think it's a good idea (nor do I agree with it).... IF the rules are the same in the isle of man, which I guess you know because you're so, fucking, clever, is completey and utterly beside the point, I said nothing about the rules...

And as for my moto-knowledge, mate I'll bench race most anyone, any time. Having an opinion that differs from the rules is not an indication of anything except free will.

Tickets start at 30 something for the Brisbane round which seems really cheap considering it's at Boondall.

Anyway Champ,

It does not take a lot of idea to "bench race". You simply pick a few riders then proceed to hang shit on a couple and say how one guy is the best? And don't take stuff to heart so much it's all good mate! Also don't worry about most of your knowledge coming from here, most of the Journalist's down there get half there content from this page as well haha!

I will say well done to the promoter for sticking his neck out and keeping the sport alive down there. Would take balls and it's a shame one of the OEM's don't have any.

Any way I am out of this thread enjoy!

M C Hammered every night!

I'm not gonna get into an argument with someone who can't read or who can barely write a legitimate reply, including the misuse of idea, there(their), any(-)way and question marks... BUT if you're gonna come here, three posts deep, flaunting you're stupidity, I think it'd be best you post to someone else. It's not taking it to heart, it's just, you sound like an idiot, and I can't be arsed except to highlight it.

Also, FYI, bench racing is definitely not a shit slinging contest. Most passionate fans, people who do know what they're talking about would say it covers all aspects of moto–history, rules, race results, the lot... And if you read ANY of my posts, you'd see I contribute to this board, I definitely don't come here to absorb "knowledge", as you say... I come here to bench race and argue with idiots apparently... ah fuck it, you got me.

Dopey.

Have they got a little more space this year Greg? My bro went last year and said the space was pretty tight.

What were the races like Greg, good starts again? It looked like he could win from last at Bathurst.

Think winning the series over Bro, Hill and Pieck last year and them AMA semi wins where a real good learning curve, riding so much faster and comfy now

Matt is on fire! Good to see. Will he contest the first few Monster Energy Supercross rounds again in '15? Does he have the option to?
